"I found your book Eduardo and I figured it out after a few months of calculations." said the scientist seriously but Eduard saw that he was smiling.

"I believe we haven't been introduced yet." said the scientist. "I am Professor James "Bot-Nik" Bratt, son of John T. Bratt..."

"Wait you mean Bratt like..." started Tolkien.

"I would prefer not to go into details but I would like to tell you how much I adore the work you've done and you are going to do. It's an honour sir even though you don't understand it yet," said James and it was obvious that he was moved by this meeting probably more than Eduard.

"I understand it's a timey-wimey thing. But there is one important thing we could discuss. I believe that this young depressed tree really needs your help and not just ordinary care as plants usually need," said Tolkien. "Come on, tell him Eduard."

"Well, sir. The thing is..." Eduard hid his face in branches on his head.

"Yes Eduardo?" said James.

"That I feel alone! And there's no one to talk about it except that stupid cactus which is just a flower with pointy looks! I don't have any friends!" screamed suddenly Eduard overwhelmed by his emotions.

"Oh, I didn't know, I didn't realize...you can feel already?!" Mr. Bot-Nik looked truly shocked.

"Yes! Isn't it obvious?! And I would rather not!" Eduard looked smaller now.

"Oh, my little poor tree... I am so sorry!" said the scientist. "I was waiting for this moment so long but I've never thought I will miss it and cause you such a hard time!"

"What?!" said Eduard and Tolkien at the same time.

"Of course, you don't know. How could you actually. But at this point I will have to talk only to Eduard if you excuse us Sir Tolkien. This is one of those timey things you know. Thank you for your help, it was a great honour Sir!" said Mr. Bot-Nik and with a bow turned to go into the night.

"So you think there is a future for us. I mean for mankind. Even after the big war," added Tolkien.

"Yes. I believe there is Sir. Good night and thank you for everything!" finished James and disappeared into the dark.

"I thank you too sir, it seems there is a solution even if it is talking forever with Mr. Bot-Nik," said Eduard.

"You're welcome. Have a save journey Eduard the Walking Tree," said Tolkien with a smile on his face.

And suddenly the tree and the scientist were gone.

"Hmm, so weird and interesting encounter," said Tolkien to himself. "Talking and walking trees. Interesting idea..." and he closed the door and went back to his bed.
