Every little girl at one point of time starts getting boy crazy. For some, it starts as early as kindergarten and some take their own sweet time. First crushes, first conversation, first kiss; everything seems like a fairy tale. Even the first heartbreak. Without her even realizing, her life revolves around the boys she falls for.

The major milestone of her life is nothing but falling in and out of a relationship. When she is asked to go back in time and describe how her schooling and college days went by, she has nothing else to remember other than the boys she was crazy about.
At 14, she couldn’t wait to go on a date. At 15, she couldn’t wait to be kissed. At 16, she couldn’t wait to get a real boyfriend. At 17, she couldn’t wait to fall in love. At 18, she couldn’t wait to have sex. That’s how she looks back at her teenage years.

Now, she is 24 and she doesn’t want her next milestone to be about a boy. She doesn’t want her goals revolving around some other person. She wants her goals revolving around her own self.

Although she doesn’t regret her past so-called milestones, she doesn’t feel the need for it. Now she knows what life is supposed to feel like.
It wasn’t about getting a guy’s attention anymore, it was about finding herself.
She does not fret about her ‘status’ anymore. She now understands what it means to be happily single. She has decided to chase something that will be permanent. Something that will never make her regret. That is her ‘career’.
So she did!

Instead of going on disappointing dates, she makes time for her best friends, family and herself. She wakes up every morning feeling grateful for the life she lives. She feels grateful for the work she does which she dreamt about as a kid. She doesn’t need any hug or steady kisses from a guy to feel good about herself.

The only long lasting relationship that she wishes for is with her career.
