Game Or Not?

Chapter 2

Kaze's Pov

Merlin sighed and asked me to sit and I sat facing him across the table. He poured some tea and gave it to me.

"Your assumptions are correct. This world is the real world of the story King Arthur, however, most of the things from the story of King Arthur that you have known in your world is false." he said.

"That much I gathered. The question is how and why are we here? What purpose?"

"The game that brought you here is enchanted to bring a worthy person here to aid Arthur in his endeavours and serve as his shield for it was prophesized that he will die early and only a being from another world will be able to save him that is why I had enchanted that particular game. Lin's arrival was expected but yours is obviously a surprise" he explained. I noded and sipped my tea.

"I would like to be a part of the knights" I said. He loked atme clearly shocked.

"Pardon?"

"I would like to be one of the knights of the round table."

"You must be mistaken Kaze, only the chosen people are allowed to be a part in it"

"I would like to try to sit in the special seat. Lin mentioned a seat only for a special person who has a clear heart. I would like to try and sit there and if it rejects me then I won't demand to be a part of the Knights again"

He looked at me for a moment his eyes guarded refusing to show his true emotions. I sat there for a tense moment waiting for his response.

"Very well. But you would be doing it tomorrow , for now rest" he said then shooed me out gently.  Before I went out, I stole a glance at him and caught glimpse of worry furrowing his features. For some reason I feel like he is hiding something and I feel it has something to do with me.

Arthur's Pov

I went to go find Lin as it makes me uneasy if I haven't seen her for a while. I sighed to myself, almost loosing her for too many times have made me like this, I just wish she'll be more careful I don't think I could take it if-

'no Arthur never think like that' I scolded myself. As I continued to look for her I chanced upon Lin's cousin Kaze. I walked up to her.

"Good afternoon Lady Kaze" I greeted.

"Oh it's you" she said with a bored tone which irked me a bit but stayed calm Lin already warned me about this, it's Kaze's way of testing my suitability for Lin. With that in mind, it eased me seeing as Kaze is just really looking out for my Lin.

"May I ask where are you heading?"

"To my supposed room, unfortunately, Lin failed to mention where it is exactly and she is no where to be found which means she might still be in my room"

"I see, how about I escort you there? I have to talk to Lin after all"

She nodded and followed after me. Her room is near Lin's so that they'd be closer to each other.

"What you did to Kai was impressive, Kai is a very skilled knight and you had flipped him off like it was nothing" he commented, either getting on my good side by complimenting me or just curious as to how I did it.

"I am knowlegeable on fighting skills that enables me to fight efficiently even with stronger or bigger opponents."

"Your teacher must have been proud of you"

"He was"

"Was? Is he perhaps. . . "

"Deceased, yes, old age caught up to him"

"I'm sorry"

"It's okay" I said. We remained  silent throughout the walk to my room but it was comfortable.

We finally arrived at my room just in time to see Lin leave it.

"Lin!" Arthur called to her.

"Kaze-nee,Arthur"

" Thank you for helping on setting up my room Lin"

"No biggie"she shyly said as I smiled fondly at her. We talked for a little bit before she was dragged by Arthur away on some date or whatever.

I looked around the room. It looked like those western period movies with the elegant furniture, paintings, large windows and floor-to-ceiling curtains, a chandelier and large canoped bed. I sighed and went on to change my clothes. The clothes where elegant looking also but it was clothes that you would likely see in fantasy/period drama/games, well go figure. After changing in the surprisingly comfortable clothes, I decided to sleep due to the fact that I was exhausted for some reason.
