Life After War

We went back to the village camp, we had a story to tell. Atlas and I shared our so called success and how we ended the war. We was excused for any crimes held against us.
I was waiting for my punishment; he promised after the war he would punish me, he kept me alive that long for a reason. Plus you can't hid a person for long, even if he was a demon.
"So Arthur what are you planning on doing now?"
"Oh you know the normal just chill out in camp for a few days till I feel like punishing you."
I felt sick, he was waiting on the right moment to kill me.
Five months had passed and we managed to hide Arthur for that long, Crystal had given birth to a healthy baby boy. She named him Zander. He was adorable, he looked just like Atlas. I happily helped Crystal everyday with him.
Arthur decided he wanted to punish me today. He grabbed me and slammed me against the wall; he did it so hard it knocked the breath out of me. I gasped for air as he was looking me into the eyes, his red eyes pierced my soul.
I began to sob, "please Arthur please don't kill me, I take full responsibility for you death but please don't kill me."
I was positive that he wanted to drag my soul back to the grave with him. He was strong so I couldn't move or fight back, I was just standing there waiting to die.
He just laughed and grabbed my face, "I wouldn't kill you."
"Then what are you going to do."
"I want to be reborn, I know I'll never be completely human again, but I want to grow up and live a happier life. One where I won't die."
I didn't understand what he meant, it was all confusing. I was just happy he wasn't going to kill me.
"Arthur what do you mean?"
"You'll see, just don't move okay, no matter how bad it hurts don't move."
He put his hand over my lower abdomen, a glow began to happen, a terrible pain began to fill my body. But I didn't move like he said, moments later he was gone.
I didn't feel any different, what did he do?
I felt extremely sick the next few weeks. Maybe he is killing me from the inside out.
I went to Elder Lucy, she examined me, "well Trilogy you're pregnant."
"What do you mean I can't be pregnant?!"
"Trilogy, I did a full examination and you're pregnant."
I was so surprised, is this what he meant?
Then I remembered what he said, he said he wanted to be reborn. So this is what he meant. I gently put my hand over my belly.
"How far along am I?"
She began to flip through the charts, "well according to the charts you are only 7 weeks but the size of the child says differently, the size is about 4 months."
I looked down at my belly, it hasn't gotten any bigger, "how is that so I am still the same size?"
"That I don't know, you are definitely a medical mystery."
I left the medical office. I had so many mixed emotions. Should I tell Crystal and Atlas?
No I'll wait to tell them. I'll wait until a day before I have him.
The realization I was carrying a demon child scared me. No wonder I'm defying all laws of medicine, the baby isn't human.
I wonder if Arthur still wants to be named Arthur? Or would that raise suspicions about the babies past?
That night I had a dream about Arthur he had those big red eyes looking at me, "trilogy I want to keep my name, if anyone ask tell them it was in memory of the babies father. Do I make myself clear?"
I woke up, "okay Arthur I see you'll forever haunt me. "
I finally fully accept my punishment, I do deserve all this pain, I'm still not showing but any day now Arthur's new body will be bought to this world. It might even kill me.
I walked over to Atlas and Crystals house. Zander was in his little crib fast asleep, "hey baby Zander you and Arthur will grow up together, you guys will be best of friends ."
I was gently stroking his little head. He was so sweet and innocent, Crystal and Atlas was so lucky.
Atlas and Crystal walked in, "oh hey Trilogy what's up?" Asked Atlas smiling.
"Oh I decided to drop by, also see how Zander is doing."
Crystal smiled, "he is doing great. Such a good boy."
She picked him up and walked out of the room.
It was just me and Atlas left.
"So where is Arthur? We haven't seen him in awhile. Did he go back to his grave?"
"Well not exactly...."
"What do you mean not exactly?"
"I don't know how to explain this but he is inside of me."
Atlas's face went into terror, "YOU MEAN HE POSSESSED YOU!!????"
"Shhhh kept your voice down, no he didn't posse me, it is hard to explain."
Atlas looked at me with a serious face, "explain."
"Well he wanted to be, well I guess reincarnated so be put a smaller version of himself inside of me. "
"WAIT YOU'RE PREGNANT???!!"
"Shhhh Atlas please keep your voice down, but yes I am."
"Why are you trying to keep it a secret?"
"It's a demon baby, I don't think I'll live through the birth."
Atlas's grabbed me by the wrist and took me to Crystal.
"Crystal perform an exorcism on her."
"Why?"
"She's pregnant with a demon."
She dropped her plate, "your pregnant with a what?"
I yanked my wrist away from Atlas, "I will give birth to Arthur, this is my punishment and I am going to go through with it."
I stormed out.
I hasn't heard anything from Crystal and Atlas, but any day now I'm going to give birth, I can't do it alone but I can't have help from Elder Lucy, she might kill him if she found out he is a demon. That's when I realized he is a demon he can't die. Well they can still banish him and he still needs to have care. This was all so confusing and frustrating. I didn't know what to do. I finally went to Crystal to apologize, "hey I'm sorry I just want to go through with this."
"It's okay." She was with a smile.
"So will you help me when the say comes?"
"Yeah of course. "
I was so relieved, maybe I won't die because Crystal will be helping me. My hope of living was restored.
Crystal was staying with me just in case it happened and she couldn't get to me in time.
A few days later my water broke. The pain was so intense. My labor only last am hour, Arthur didn't cry.
I heard Crystal gasp, "my God this is definitely Arthur."
She showed him to me, his black hair didn't change, neither did his skin color, but what did change is now he has one red eye and one blue eye.
The world started to go blurry. Crystal was trying to talk to me, but I couldn't hear her. I began to close my eyes. I was trying to stay awake , I needed to know that no one would try to kill Arthur, I needed to know that he grew up safe and happy. Last thing I hear was Crystal yelling, "NO TRILOGY PLEASE STAY AWAKE PLEASE TRILOGY PLEASE......"
The world went black.
