I wasn't expecting to wake up. When I closed my eyes I thought that I had finally left this world, I got my punishment for killing Arthur. Instead I felt a cold hand stroke my face, my eyes fly open, Arthur was standing over me stroking my face, "Look who decided to wake up."
I began to look like around, was I still on the field? No I was in a tent. Was it a medic tent? No it was our normal sleeping quarters.
I tried to sit up, but a burst of pain brought me back down. Crystal came into the room flipping through her book, when she saw me she dropped the book and ran to me, "it worked it really worked." She was trying to talk between the sobs.
Atlas came in after hearing all the commotion, "wow Arthur I can't believe you was right it did really work."
I finally managed to speak my voice was hoarse and painful, "what worked."
Atlas helped my sit up despite all the pain in my chest I sat up.
"Well Arthur managed to talk Crystal into using a type of Witchcraft to revive you, you was basically dead when she finally did it, your pulse was basically nonexistent and you wasn't breathing. But Arthur found a little spell type thing that healed you right up."
I looked over at Arthur and he winked at me, I forgot he wanted to the pleasure to kill me.
Crystal walked over and put her hand on my head, "you're running a slight fever, you need to rest. By tomorrow you'll be feeling good as new."
Atlas and Crystal left to let me rest, Arthur stayed he claimed it was so he could keep an eye on me.
Hours past, I hadn't went to sleep yet, "don't you think you need sleep?" Arthur was looking outside.
"Shouldn't you go to sleep?" I snapped back.
He laughed,"demons don't sleep."
I felt bad, I sunk down into my bed.
"Arthur it did hurt. I can't imagine what you went through."
"At least the sword they stabbed you with was sharp, I don't know how they managed to get that dull blade through my back and chest. The force they had to use was tremendous. You know I don't feel pain any more but every now and again I feel that awful pain shoot through my body."
This is the first time he ever talked to me about his death. This was the first time he didn't mention me killing him. Maybe he finally let it go.
Before I knew it I was asleep, I woke up at first light, Arthur was nowhere to be seen. I wasn't hurting at all today, Crystal was right what ever she did completely healed me. I finally decided to examine where he stabbed me.
My shirt was covered in blood, and it had a tear where the blade went through. I removed my shirt to get a better look where the blade was. It was a scar, and my dried blood was surrounding it. I cleaned it up and Arthur walked it.
"So you're feeling better?"
"ARTHUR WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
I quickly grabbed a blanket to cover myself. He didn't even notice till I did that.
"Hey if I knew you was stripping your clothes I wouldn't have came in."
He quickly walked out. I grabbed a new shirt and threw it on.
I walked out where everyone was standing around the fire. The Elders was going to send us home. They claimed that we won. While all the adults start the march home Crystal, Atlas, Arthur, and I all hid in the tree line. We was going to put a true stop to the war.
When we saw that everyone had truly left we gathered what little supplies was left. I had a total of 60 arrows and one bottle of poison left. We found a small first aid kit, some food, and a few knives and swords.
Arthur was sitting against a tree sharping the tip of a branch.
Atlas gathered the supplies and evenly distributed it to each of us.
"So when are we leaving?" Crystal asked nervously.
" In the morning." Arthur said as he continued to cut away at the branch.
No one sleep much that night, we knew in the morning we would start the march that would go down in history.
