Brannie: A Tragic Story

Chapter 3

Brennan's P.O.V.
Tonight really showed me how much I like Annie. The way she smiles. The way she will jump into my arms if anything happens. They way she loves everyone. She seemed comfortable with me. I'm glad. I wonder if she likes me too. What if I ask her out? What will she say? Will Caleb be upset? Uh oh, what if he stops being me friend. How will I be with Annie knowing Caleb doesn't like me? Okay Brennan, just breathe, deep breaths. Just ask Caleb, yeah just ask him. I should go to bed now.

Annie's P.O.V.
I wake up so refreshed and ready to get along with my day. Then I remembered what happened last night with Brennan. Oh god, why am I getting butterflies in my stomach? It's Brennan for god's sake. You know your best friends brother? Could I actually like him? Why me? Does everything had to be this difficult. Oh man what about Katie? Okay Annie you have to tell her you have to tell her what you are feeling. Everything will be fine don't worry about a thing. Just ask Katie.

I finally sit up and check the time 8:45? What time did we stay up till? I look over at everyone they are sleeping. I turn and look at Brennan. Oh my god he moved. I'm trying to not make a lot of movements but apparently that's not going too well. Brennan rolled over so now he is facing me. He pushes his blanket down a little from his shoulders. Oh god, he's shirtless. What do I do? Annie it's not like you haven't seen him shirtless at his water polo games. Uh but I'm so far away from him and I've never noticed him like this before. Uh he is so cute. I love him. HUH Annie did you really just think that? Calm down it's okay just forget about it and go back on your phone. So I did that exact thing.

I roll over to face Katie. She slowly starts to wake up after a couple of minutes. When Katie starts to say something, I shush her. Indicating that we were the only ones awake. Soon Hayley and Ryan wake up and go play upstairs. That leaves Caleb and Brennan still sleeping. Katie taps my shoulder and signals me to follow her to the platform on the stairs.

"We should wake the boys up by pouring cold water all over them!" Katie says. I smirk at the devious plan.

We quietly run upstairs and grab 2 big buckets and fill them with ice cold water. Tiptoe back down the stairs to make sure they are still asleep. They are. Katie and I stand above them. I have Caleb and Katie has Brennan.

"One....two....three!" We whisper. At three we dump the entire buckets of water on them. They jump up in surprise.

"What was that for?" Caleb asks us angrily. We can't help but laugh. No words come out of our mouth just laughter.

"Oh you two are going to get it" Brennan says running around the mess to us. His hands are out like he is about to grab us and tickle us.

As soon as Caleb sees what Brennan is doing, he joins.

By now Katie and I are laughing so hard that our eyes are closed from all of the laughter, out stomachs start to hurt and we are getting clumsier by the second. I think I might be crying from all of the laughter. The water causes me to slip, fall back and land on top of Brennan's shirtless wet body.

"I'm so sorry", I say to Brennan trying to get back into reality by standing up. But Brennan doesn't want me to stand up and starts tickling me until I wiggle out of his hold. I start to run around the basement. I look over at Caleb and Katie, he has her in a lock tickling her. Yup I definitely love them being my neighbors.
