Chapter 19: There Just Has To Be

~Breezy's POV~

"So, how is she," question Dallon, rubbing the back of my head.

"Honestly, I've never seen her so upset. She hasn't been sleeping either. Fucking Brendon. Brendon didn't talk to you at all did he?"

He sighed, "Nope. Do you think I should go over and talk to him?"

"Well, actually I will be tomorrow, even though Addilyn doesn't want me to."

Dallon laughed, "If she doesn't want you to, then don't."

"No, I know there's something going on. There just has to be a reason."

"Yeah, I still can't believe Sarah came over."

"Such a bitch. Addilyn really showed her up though. But you should've seen her face when Sarah said that Brendon was upset it was heartbreaking. It's funny how much she still cares for him even though he broke her heart."

"Well, you know her. She has a good heart and besides she loves Brendon so much."

"I know. This really has been an impossible year for her."

"But she makes it look like it's been a fantastic year."

I shook his shoulders, "I know right!" I let go and Dallon widened his eyes. "That girl is something else."

"Yeah, um, I agree with you though. That, um, there's something going on. I have never seen Brendon so happy before."

"True, true."

"Are you sure you don't want me to go talk to him?"

"I'm sure. I'm going to be his new counselor." Dal raised an eyebrow and shook his head.

"Hi momma and daddy," exclaimed two little kids bursting through the door.

"Hey kids, how was school," I asked as Amelie jumped onto my lap and Knox jumped on Dallon's.

"You know the usual, momma," replied Amelie.

Dallon and I laughed, "How about you Knox?"

"It was good."

"How's Addy," inquired Amelie, playing with my hair. The kids have been non stop talking about her. They love her so much.

"She's okay, still sad."

"Stupid Brendon," said Knox, crossing his arms.

Dallon laughed, "Who wants a snack?"

"Me," yelled Knox.

"Amelie?"

"One second," she told him, raising a finger at him. Man, she's a little sassy one. Takes after her amazing mother. "Momma, why did Brenny break up with Addy," she asked tilting her head.

"I don't know sweetie, but momma's going to talk to him tomorrow."

"Good. Beat him up!"

I bursted out laughing, "Oh, I will. Just for you."

I began to tickle her, "Momma, no, stop!" Amelie giggled, squirming all over me. Once I finally stopped, she hit my arm. "Can I talk to her?"

"I don't know, baby. She needs some alone time."

"Please, momma. I can make her happy," she begged sticking out her bottom lip.

"Let me text her." Addilyn texted back not even a second later with a yes.

"Here, but please don't tell her about me going to see Brendon."

"Alright momma, I promise." She took the phone out of my hand and I heard Addilyn from the other side of the phone. "Hey, Addilyn. Wanna hear a joke?" I laughed silently to myself as she blabbered about all different types of things to Addilyn. The smile on her face was priceless. But real talk though, I need to find out what's going on with Brendon.
