Cara's POV

I leaped between the gross dead dude and my best friend, but he managed to grab Molly by her dominant hand and cut her fore-arm, forming a deep gash that would need stitches no doubt. She passed out onto the floor, Sponk was unconscious across the floor, and Mercy was slowly gaining her strength on the floor above. I was alone, weaponless. But then I realized that the man didn't even notice what Molly really held in her hand and it fell to the ground. I swear it fell in slow motion and I grabbed it before it hit the floor. I stood up, face to face with this monster. I stood tall, swallowing my fear, My friends' lives depended on it. The man chuckled and I swore he was about to kill me. He didn't. I pointed the tool at him with my finger on the button

"You're going to kill your friend, stupid girl," he sneered, his yellow teeth inches from my eyes.

"Liar!' I yelled but couldn't push the button knowing that I very well could kill her.

"She's already dying, and so are your other little friends here." He said looking at Molly and Spence "The only way to save them from death is to put that little toy down and let my spirit live. You will all go free, I promise."

"I can't..." I stammered, "you'll hurt that poor girl for all eternity if I don't." but even as I said these words I started to lower the only thing that could kill this man.
"Weak girl," he said smiling, knowing he had won this battle.

But as he was about to take the tool Molly's eyes started to flutter open and she quickly remembered what was happening. She sprang up, grabbing the pen right before the ghost took it from me and pushed the green button. The man put his hands in front of his face as a bright flash of yellow light surrounded him, he screamed. Then, silence. The man was dead. We rushed over to Spencer and I hit his cheek lightly to wake him.

"Spencer?" I said, hoping my dorky friend was alive, "Spence come on buddy the ghost is gone, we have to check on Mercy." He slowly sat up and looked at his hand, eyes widening. Before he could pass out again Molly ripped part of her shirt and wrapped it around his hand to slow the blood, she then did the same to her own wound.

"Come on" I said, helping Spencer up "let's get Mer." We limped up the stairs and to the bedroom. We got to the door and found it was locked.

"Lauren!!" Molly called, "Come on it's safe now! Are you okay?" the door slowly creaked open like it had when we first arrived and Mercy was laying on the ground, dead. We ran over to her anyway and checked for a breath. None. A pulse. None. Our eyes filled with tears, as they fell into her body that we were surrounding, she coughed, her eyes rolled, then opened.

"I told you Cara... that you loved me too much to let me die," Mercy said while her eyes slowly opened with a cough. We laughed with relief and all hugged her.

"You're such an ass Mercy." I said, wiping the last of my tears away, reconstructing my emotionless expression I wore so well.

"Let's go home," Molly said, helping Mercy up while I held the weight of Spencer. We walked down the stairs and could tell that the house was finally calm as we walked out the door that had mysteriously unlocked itself.

Spoopy. We are approaching the end peeps. Enjoy!
