Averna covered her face with both hands and shook her head. She turned and tugged at her sister's clothing, "STOP! Stop it Kalaya!" Nothing. Kalaya didn't flinch nor withhold from her position- she still had a tight hold on Akina with her glare alone.

Averna looked at Akina in time to see her eyes mist as she collapsed helplessly onto her knees.

Her sister was extremely powerful and even though Averna had powers of her own - they were no way near as strong as her sister's. She turned back to Kalaya and tugged at her and pleaded with all her might, "please let her go Kalaya!" Nothing. A hot tear ran down her face as she squeezed her eyes shut "for me!!"

Kalaya's emotionless body shuddered as she blinked once returning back to her original self. Averna held her breath and span round to Akina who let out a breath then fell to the floor. Averna crawled towards her and stroked Akina's hair as she laid with her eyes froze open, choking and panting for air. Water streamed out of her eyes as the colour brown returned to them.

"I was protecting you" Kalaya finally spoke after remaining silent for so long. Averna spun round to look up at her and narrowed her eyes, "protect me?" she pulled back Akina's hair out of her face, "you call this protecting me? Were you trying to kill her?!"

"No but she hurt you. I was trying to protect you. I never meant to go that far" Kalaya said trying to reassure her scared sister. She stepped closer but Averna turned away from her.

Kalaya's eyes watered "I was angry and when she pushed you I had to act, my powers must of fused with my emotions, you know I wouldn't ever-"

Averna wiped away her tear with the back of her hand then stood up, "How could you let it get so bad!? I've haven't seen you like that, not since-" she hesitated then spoke, "not since that day so long ago." Kalaya met Averna's eyes and narrowed them at her.

"You...!" Akina choked out angrily making Averna and Kalaya turn to face her. She wore an expression of pure grimace and pain, as she gnashed her teeth and wiped her wet cheeks with the back of her hand. Averna rushed over to help her up since she was struggling. "How did-you never said the powers could do that!" Akina said looking from Kalaya to Averna's startled face.

Averna gulped getting ready to explain but was interrupted by Kalaya. "My powers are incomparable. Averna does not possess the level that I have but since I gave you your powers Akina, you may also possess similar traits in your ability with the right training that is, but that's later to be tested" her mother spoke firmly in the dark room.

Akina steadied herself and pulled from Averna's hold, "may I ask why you've brought me here?" she folded her arms at them, waiting for an answer. "Wasn't it something urgent?"

"Yes extremely, so urgent that it'll change life itself if not attended to" her mother begun, "the fairy world is in danger and us pixies are also."

"Whoa whoa... Pixies? I may carry a pixiescar of which you gave me but that doesn't change what I am" Akina said huffing at the ridicule of it all. "So what exactly is threatening the fairy world?"

"A very rich man in the correspondent land. His family has hated our kind for centuries, but even though our kind had kept quite secret there was always a danger perched, waiting for an uprising of war." Kalaya's eyes dimmed increasingly as she continued, "but then there was a diffence. The enemy was no longer an enemy anymore, he became the difference and swore to protect our kind along with his son but that wasn't too last..."

"What did the son do?" Akina said listening intensively. Kalaya continued, "he was in love with a pixiescarer and even though it was impossible for them to mix the two species. It happened miraculously. Upon his family's discovery of this strange occurrence, their reaction was one of hardship- they turned him out. Heartbroken and upset darkness bled within the son's heart, he later threatened war and hated on our kind. Babies born do not have the pixiescar until it is given to them by their mothers. The son did something horrible and unforgiving..." there was a quaver in Kalaya's voice as she turned away from recalling the painful story.

Akina rose to her feet and walked towards her. There was a brimming fear within her that caused her heart to beat a whole lot quicker. Once she was standing directly in front of her mother she touched her shoulder and whispered: "What did he do?"

Kalaya looked her long absent daughter in the eyes before continuing, "The son took away the baby into the night, threatening if anyone tried to come after them, ultimately crossing the border he will bring war which would end our kind."

Akina gasped and shook her head with uncertainty, "that poor child!" there was no way of knowing for sure without her mother's conformation. She gasped a second time, "if none was like the child being born of both kinds, does that make the child a half-breed? Wouldn't it have been born with the pixiescar?" Akina asked looking at Kalaya.

Her mother nodded slightly, "the child did have a pixiescar but since it was half-breed the child's powers wouldn't have been activated. It wasn't living with our kind. The child would have forgotten their identity making their pixiescar fade, appearing as just a birthmark." She sighed then looked back at Akina, "the King's son had seen the scar and became fearful and worried that the child will remember. He took the baby so long ago through the waterhole in the jungl-"

"Wait did you say the waterhole!?" Akina asked in utter bewilderment.

The water hole...so it does exist! There is an actual place in the jungle. I have to find it...But why do I appear to have faded memories of that place? Akina wondered to herself.

As she remained in her own world of thought, Averna and Kalaya looked at each other in the dark room then at Akina.

Was there more then they're not letting on?
