*Hey guys! Sorry if the last chapter was really long.. DX I was kinda losing myself in writing.
Also life is pretty shit right now.. So I probably will be really slow on updating both stories..
Anyways, I hope you like the story so far! Gonna continue now!*
I woke up and noticed we had landed at an airport. I yawned and stretched, looking at a beautifully lighted up city. It was Seattle, Washington. It made me wake up even more. The view from the airplane window was amazing. I almost missed getting off when everyone else was leaving. I got up and grabbed my stuff, quickly exiting the plane into the dim early morning. It was 6:30 and the airport seemed to be a little empty and not so crowded, which was good. People were sleeping on the seats, waiting for their flight or whoever they were waiting for.
Walking through the airport, I noticed my phone was buzzing in my pocket. I reached in and pulled it out, seeing that my dad was calling. I answered.
"Morning, Dad." I said.
"Morning, sweetheart! Did you get my text?" He replied.
"No. What was it?"
"The address to your apartment. Did you just get off the plane?"
"Yeah. I'm gonna call over a cab in a bit. I might stop at the coffee shop here in the airport before I leave."
"Okay, Alex. Stay safe. I love you! I have to go to work."
"Okay dad. I love you too. Have a good day at work. Bye." I hung up.
I spotted the coffee shop on the right side of me and walked to it. The smell of coffee was making my body shiver in delight. I loved coffee and I heard that Seattle had the best coffee.
I got my coffee and walked out of the airport, seeing a cab drive up. I waved over to it and it drove to me. There was a young man, about a little over my age, sitting in the front seat. He smiled and I jumped in, stuffing my bags in the cab with me. The man turned back to me and smiled again.
"Where to?" He asked politely.
"Satellite Apartments. (A/N: Sorry. Trying to come up with names..) Please." I said.
"Okay." He said and drove away from the airport.
It was quiet for a little bit. For the morning, it was beautiful. The sun slowly rose above the illuminating city. I could see the Space needle and it was amazing. Maybe I will go some day.
"So, you from around here?" The man broke the silence.
"No. I just got here from Arizona." I replied, not looking at him and keeping my eyes peeled on the city.
"Ah. Arizona is nice. I traveled through once on a croas country trip. Beautiful place."
"Not at beautiful as Seattle. It's just desert there."
He chucked. "We are almost there."
"Sweet." I was excited. Living a new life in a new city. Meeting new people. Seeing what kind of things Seattle had to offer. I wish my dad and Amethyst were here. They would have loved it here. When we were driving through the city, there was a lot of coffee shops and stores. Just how imagined it.
Before I knew it, we arrived at the apartments. It was a nice looking place. From my guess, my dad decided to get me an expensive place and he successfully didn't surprise me. From the inside, it looked fancy. Oh boy. I got out of the cab and grabbed my stuff.
"Good luck!" The man shouted to me and drove off.
I smiled and took a deep breath, walking towards the entrance. The inside was nice.
"Hello, welcome to Satellite Apartments." A woman said to me. She looked like she was in her mid 20s. "Can I help you?"
"Oh. My dad bought me apartment here. Micheal Quinn?" I said.
"Oh yeah! He was here two weeks ago. Did you get the key from him?"
I nodded.
"Okay. Well, follow me. I will show you where it is."
"Okay." I followed her. She helped me carry some of my stuff. We took the elevator because stairs were too much of a work out. We got to the third story.
"This way." She said and walked down the hallway. I followed. We finally stopped at the door. "This is your apartment." She opened the door and it was amazingly huge. It was just like Dad said. Oh Dad, I love you. I have to call him later.
"Thank you so much." I thanked her. She smiled and walked off. I entered my cozy new home and felt like I belonged here. This was home sweet home. Setting my stuff down, I noticed there had been furniture set already. I smiled and walked to where my room was. A bed was there, including a night stand, a dresser and a closet with a full body mirror on both doors. Perfect. Then I noticed there was a glass sliding door, leading to a balcony. I opened the door and stepped out into the cool morning. Below me, people were walking through the alley. The sound of cars roared through the city. The lights of buildings faded away and the sun rose high in the sky. My stomach started to growl with hunger and I didn't have any food in the fridge, deciding maybe it was time for me to get some breakfast somewhere.
I walked down the street, looking up some food places nearby on my phone, so that maybe I had a good idea where everything was. The November morning was cold and a bit nippy. I covered my nose and mouth with my scarf to keep me warm. I arrived at a small coffee and food shop, just perfect enough for me. Yes, I loved coffee shops. They were peaceful. When I entered, there was a lady standing at the counter. She saw me and greeted me with a gentle smile.
