*So, I won't be updating often. I'm sorry. I've been getting sick a lot and I'm stressing about things right now.*
We walked out of my apartment into the cold November air. Victoria was still blushing and biting her lip from earlier. I wanted to hold her hand, but I kept my distance for now. We made down the block a bit when we heard screaming coming from an alley. Running towards the screams, it sounded like a woman.
"Alex! Wait!" Victoria called to me.
I ignored her and ran into the alley. There, I saw the woman. She was stabbed multiple times and she was pregnant. I knelt down next to her.
"Hello? Can you hear me? Just stay awake. I'm going to call 9-1-1, okay?" I frantically reached into my pocket and quickly dialed. Victoria eventually caught up to me.
"Oh my god!" She shouted.
"Hello? Yes. I'm calling about a woman who was stabbed. Umm, I don't know. I was walking and I heard screaming and I saw her laying there. She's pregnant, too. You're on the way? Okay." I hung up the phone. This poor woman. What was going to happen to her?
The woman stared up at me and gave me a small smile. "I.. I knew this was going to happen. Thank you." That was all she said to me as she slowly slipped away. I felt like crying, but I didn't even know who she was. Victoria grabbed onto my shoulder.
"Alex, don't just go running off like that! Alex, stuff like this happens all the time in this city," She said, looking down at the woman. "She wasn't far from her due date earlier. She must've been at least 8 months by now."
"She looks so young, too. Must be 18." I said, plotting a murder mystery in my head.
Soon enough, the paramedics arrive. They ran over to me and got the girl into the ambulance. They all said that they will take care of it from here. Today was a weird morning.

"Alex? Are you okay?"
I looked over at Victoria, her beautiful blue eyes peaking from the top of her coffee cup.
I shook my head. "How often does things like that happen?"
"Pretty often." She set down her coffee cup. "You know Alex, this isn't some murder mystery you can solve on your own."
"Why not? It's a classic murder mystery. Like Jack the Ripper. He only killed woman and they are tons of men in this city that could be suspected of murder.
She gave me a weird look with a confused smile. "Alex, not everyone is a murderer. You can't just point out some innocent man or woman.."
I put my hand on my chin and thought for a moment. "You're right. They still never found out if Jack was a male or female. At least I don't think. Look, I was in a play a long time ago my Senior year and we did a murder mystery."
She just sighed. "Oh boy. Oh, there's my boyfriend. Probably coming to annoy me for whatever reason."
"Isn't that what guys always do?"
"Hey hey! There's my sweet little angel!" Victoria's boyfriend bursted into the coffee shop loudly. Her face went red.
"Stephen, shut up! You're being loud." She tried not to yell.
"You don't tell me what do, Princess. I am your boss and you will listen and obey everything I say. Got that?" He said that so sternly and commanding. It made me want to punch in the face.
"Yes, sir. I'm sorry, sir." She said so submissively. She almost started to cry.
"That's my good girl." He patted her head. "Oh, you're that girl from the cafe the other day." He snapped. "Why are you hanging out with my girl?"
"At least she's not hanging out with guys." I said sharply.
"She's not allowed around other guys anyways. She's mine and mine only. No one else's."
I snickered and stood up. "Oh? Really? So, she's not allowed to have friends because her boyfriend is being a controlling asshole and just wants his girl to follow everything he says? So you can manipulate her into whatever you want her to do for you? I bet you rarely even say 'I love you' to make her feel special. Is this really what you want to be for the rest of your life? Fucking pricks who can only talk with their dicks? You shouldn't call Victoria yours if you just use her as your sex slave. You don't even know what she's going through. So, I suggest you leave before I make things worse and tell the police you've been raping this poor girl. I know you don't even ask her anyways. You don't strike me as a man who asks girls what they want. You just tell them what you want. Now, leave her alone and don't come back. Ever."
Stephen didn't say anything, only balled fists and a nasty look was the only thing he could give me.
"Fuck you, stupid bitch." He said and shoved me to the side. He angrily walked out and stormed down the street.
I looked over at Victoria who was balling her eyes out. The coffee shop was quiet, everyone was looking at me. Then, a slow clap turned into a loud applause.
"You saved me from years of abuse. Thank you so much, Alex." She said under her tears.
"I hate seeing that kind of abuse.. I would know."
She wiped her tears away. "You do? What happened?"
"Well, I basically went through the same thing you went through. I wasn't allowed to do anything. I couldn't even leave my house."
"That's horrible. You're not dealing with that now, right?" She asked, taking a sip of her coffee.
"No. I left that behind years ago." I had a small smirk on my face. "I'm glad I did."
"I wasn't in love with him anyways. He never umm.. did that inside of me because I refused to let him. I wasn't going to lose my virginity to someone I didn't love or care about."
Wait, did she say that?? But, I was the one who... oh no. This girl is starting to fall for me. It wasn't a bad thing and all, but this all happened so quickly. It was starting to confuse me.
"What's wrong, Alex?" She asked, giving me a puzzled expression.
"N-Nothing. Nothing at all."
She shot me a cheeky grin. "Really? Your face tells me otherwise."
I hid my face in embarrassment. She chuckled a little bit. "C'mon. I'll pay for breakfast today."
What was I going to do?
