The girl I just met caught up to me. Victoria was her name. I stopped in my tracks and let her catch her breath. I laughed a little bit.
"Heh. Nice to see you again." She said to me as her breath was finally back in her lungs.
I just smirked. "Yeah."
"Sorry about my boyfriend, he just got beat up by dickhead." She responded and stood up tall, her high-heeled boots clicking against each other. She was wearing a tan fur coat and a nice looking dress that hugged her body, exposing her hips. Her blonde hair was elegantly curled around her tanned face. Her blue eyes were very vibrant and gorgeous. "I guess those two were good friends until Ryo turned his back on him. So, you look new. What's your name?"
Expectedly I thought she was a stuck up person, but she was really sweet. "My name is Alexandria. I just moved from Arizona."
Her face perked up and her smiled glowed. "Arizona, huh? That explains the brunette hair." She pointed out my hair. "It suits you. Anyways, I just wanted to apologize for what you saw and give you my number."
Huh. This girl I just met is giving me her number. That's strange. "Thanks."
"Victoria!" A loud voice called from the distance. We both looked in that direction and it was the rich lady. Her glare was making me uncomfortable. "Don't just run off, young lady! You have a photoshoot here in 30 minutes! Stop wasting your time with strangers!"
"Mother! Just leave me alone for once!" Victoria shouted back. "Why must everything revolve around modeling for me?!"
They were shouting back and forth at each other for a little bit. I couldn't really say anything, but something in me wanted to pull her away. So I did. Her mother got frustrated and let us walk away. Victoria didn't say a word. We walked awkwardly holding hands the whole way just a couple blocks.
"You literally saved me from my nagging mother, Alexandria." Victoria finally said.
"I know. Honestly, she was annoying me as well." I responded. Her polite smile made mine appear. "What are you planning on doing now?"
"Oh, probably going to finish some errands and then later tonight go to a club or something. Would you like to join me?"
The thought of going to a bar would be fun, but also knowing I might see the same bearded face was starting to make my stomach twist. My face felt like it was flushed in red. Victoria waved her hand in front of my face.
"Hey, you okay? Thinking about someone special?"
Yes. I was thinking about Ryo. "Yeah. The guy I just met."
She gave me a weird look. "Um, Alexandria.. He's trouble. I would stay away from him."
Wait, why? Of course I did sense something off about him, but it didn't like he was hiding much. He doesn't really have much of family as I've heard from him. "Why? Because his family problems or what?" I wasn't rude about this. I just wanted to know why it mattered so much for me to stay away from this beautiful stranger.
"I've just heard.. stuff.. Listen, if you see him just don't talk to him. Okay?" She sounded serious. She knew something, but she probably didn't want to scare me. So, I nodded in agreement. "So, about tonight?"
"Definitely." I smiled widely.
"Cool! Just send me your address and I will pick you up at 8!" We both smiled at each other. She walked in front of me and gave me a warming hug. I hugged her back. "I think we will be really good friends, Alexandria."
"Me too, Victoria." I replied softly and we went our separate ways. I decided to walk back to my apartment and prepare myself for tonight.
~*~
It was 7:42 and I was almost ready when I got a call from Victoria. She told me to be ready by 7:55. I could be ready by that time. I was excited, but yet scared because there could be crazy drunks flirting with you while you sit at the bar. Even worse, they could put some drugs in your drink and you would wake up in a mysterious place with some strange rapist. Yeah. I have fears like that.
I finished getting dressed. I wore a pair of high waisted dark blue pants with a black tank top and my converse to go with it. I felt pretty good about myself tonight. I was kind of hoping Victoria would be my eye candy.
I started to think about Ryo again as well. What if he shows up randomly..? My body shivered at the thought.
"Hey! Hey Alexandria!" Victoria shouted through the door and knocked hard on it. "You ready yet?"
"You know you can come in, right?" I replied. She opened the door and stood right by it, waiting on me. "I'm pretty much done. How do I look?" I asked and stood up from the couch.
Victoria looked at me from head and toe twice and bit her lip. "You look amazing to be honest."
I smiled and winked at her. "Thanks. You look amazing as well." She was wearing a long sleeve velvet light pink dress with the same color heels as her dress and her hair was in a really cute updo.
"Are we both ready now?" She said to me.
"Yeah. I'm ready now." I said and grabbed a long sleeved sweater coat from the front door.
"Alright! Let's go have some fun tonight! We're both 21, right?" She said in a sarcastic tone.
"Yup. You can even look at my I.D." I laughed.
We both did.
