Megan Watson's POV

"God, I'm glad to be able to get away from that place."

Niall shook his head as he placed our bag in the compartment above my head and then sat down beside me.

"How come?" I questioned, averting my gaze from the plane window to him.

"Well, y'know, a lot of shitty stuff happened there." He let out a small laugh.

I nodded my head in agreement. "Yeah."

We didn't say anything for a while and I looked at the screen in front of me. There was one in front of every chair in the plane, along with a set of headphones. I started scrolling through the selection of movies it had on it.

"Meg?" Niall said softly from beside me, catching my attention.

"Mm?" I asked, looking to him.

"Can we, like..." He struggled to continue. "Start afresh or something?"

"Start afresh?" I asked, frowning. "What do you mean by that?"

"Y'know, like, we've been fighting a lot recently." He looked at me seriously. "And I -" He stopped himself.

"You what?" I asked him curiously.

He was silent for a moment, but then spoke softly, "I can't lose you. So can we make a promise with each other?"

I bit my lip. "What kind of promise?"

He hesitated. "Like... can we promise each other that we'll stay together no matter what? Because I honestly love you so, so much, Meg. No matter what, I always still love you and its quite fucking annoying to be honest."

I let out a small laugh. "Okay."

"Pinky promise?" He asked with a playful smile, holding his pinky finger out.

"Wow, I didn't realize we were that serious about this," I said jokingly, before locking my pinky with his. "Pinky promise."

He smiled and then asked, "And can we try and stop fighting? I don't like it."

I shook my head. "Me either."

"Then I guess we won't," he said, pressing his lips against mine and kissing me for a moment before pulling away.

"And don't ever cheat on me again, okay?" I said to him seriously.

He looked like he wanted to say something, but he didn't.

"I won't," he sighed softly, sending me a weak smile.

The next nine hours it took to get to London consisted of sleeping, watching movies, and then sleeping again. I was glad to be back in London but was instantly hit with the cold night air as I stepped off the plane. I had become so used to the hot Florida weather that I had forgotten how cold London was.

"We're back!" I exclaimed to Niall with an excited grin as we walked into the airport.

"Yep." He laughed softly, pressing a kiss to my temple.

It wasn't long until we had all our luggage back and were driving to my family's house. It was only five in the evening, so we agreed that we would come over for a few hours when we arrived.

"I'm nervous," Niall told me as he drove to the house.

"What? Why?" I asked him confusedly.

"This is the first time your family's seeing us since we got engaged," he pointed out. "I'm just - I dunno. I'm just nervous."
