"I should write a book." Dom grinned. Naka upo kaming tatlo sa damuhan sa tapat nung mga wooden targets
"Tungkol naman saan?" Humikab ako at sumandal sa balikat ni Eros
"Man, I could just see it, A comprehensive tutorial about moving on by Domeric Blackburn."
"Sige nga, what is the first step?"
"Hmm...kill your cheating ex."
"Accomplished." Tumango si Eros para iindika ang mga litrato ni Jackson na nag ka gula gulanit na dahil sa mga arrow head na tumama sa bull's eye. Jackson earned this...he deserved this for cheating and betraying my trust. Kagaya lang sya ng nanay ko.
"What's next?" I asked with a forced smile
"Uhm, pizza?"
"Deal." Sabay naming sagot ni Eros
We ate the pizza in the gazebo located adjacent to the swimming pool. Mayroon ring spicy buffalo wings at beer dahil ginutom daw si Dom sa pag iisip
"So...ano palang nangyari pag katapos nating umalis sa property nila Don Gustave? Napagalitan ba kayo?" I asked while wrapping my hands around the cold beer bottle
"Wala pa namang nangyayari, no reprimands, no nothing." Eros shrugged
"Ganon din sa bahay, everything seems calm," Dom jut in before taking another slice of pizza
"But its a different kind of calm, sobrang tense...it seems like the calm before a volcanic eruption." He added thoughtfully
"Ikaw?" Dom looked expectantly at me
"Ayos lang." He doesn't seem convinced
"Napagalitan ako ng kaunti...but that's it." I shrugged and averted my eyes away from him but when I did, I noticed the figure near the glass doors.
So...she's here now
"Mauna na siguro kami." Sabi ni Dom ng makita nya rin ang nanay ko. Napatango nalang ako at wala sa sariling inayos ang mga pinagkainan namin. She quickly approached me the moment Eros and Dom left
"Pinapunta mo pala ang mga kaibigan mo?" She asked. Nag patuloy lang ako sa pag liligpit
"San ka nanggaling?" Nagulat sya sa bigla kong tanong
"I went out..." She said and I immediately narrowed my eyes at her. Wala na akong tiwala sa kanya simula nung iwanan nya kami para sa lalaki nya and I know that she can do that again.
"You don't trust me." It wasn't a question so I didn't say anything but something in my chest ached at the look in her eyes. It was a mixture of hurt, disappointment and longing.
"I went out...with your dad." She said solemnly. Hindi ko alam pero lalo akong nairita ng sabihin nya iyon...I mean I should be relieved that they are trying to make it work right? But why do I feel scared? Maybe its because of the fact that my mother will regain the power to ruin my dad again once they've mended their relationship
"Nandoon sya sa loob." She said and we proceeded to clean the gazebo in total silence.
