"What the hell is that?!" Someone suddenly yelled at dala ng gulat ay nabitawan ko ang paper bag kung nasaan ang aking stilletoes
"Are you trying to give me a heart attack!" I snapped back at Domeric
"Si Colton Cross yon diba? What is he doing here? Oh wait, let me rephrase that what are you doing here...with him?"
"Now you just sound like my mom, Dom." Muli kong kinuha ang nalaglag na paper bag habang papalapit naman sa akin si Dom para muling mag tanong
"Just answer it." He gritted out
"Dito na sya pumapasok, I thought you're already aware of that." Biglang nanlaki ang mga mata ni Dom na para bang sinabi ko sa kanyang natuto ng lumipad ang mga baboy
"Earth to Domeric." I rolled my eyes and snapped my fingers to wake him from his stupor
"Bakit ngayon mo lang sinabi!" He whined and quickly dialed a number in his phone
"I thought you know!"
"Will I react like this if I knew?"
"Kaylangan 'tong malaman ni Eros." Bulong nito bago itapat sa tenga ang kanyang cellphone
"We need a gathering." He said decisively into the phone
"Its an emergency." Dagdag nya pa at saglit na nakinig sa kabilang linya bago ibaba ang telepono
Binalingan nya ako at naglahad ng kamay "Susi."
"Fine." Ibinato ko iyon sa direksyon nya at nauna na sa sasakyan.
Hindi ako nag tanong kung saan ba kami pupunta. Hinayaan ko lang mag maneho si Domeric hanggang sa mapansin ko ang pamilyar na lugar.
"Why are we here?" I asked as I sidled out of the car
"Damage control." He said in a deflated tone bago pumasok sa elevator na naroon sa basement parking lot ng triad, ang security and artillery company run by my dad and his colleagues.
"Sisimangutan mo nalang ba ako buong araw?" I elbowed him when the elevator started moving.
He frowned even harder. He's been like that kahit nung nasa byahe pa kami, he had been clutching the steering wheel of my car as if he was strangling an enemy. Hindi ko talaga maintindihan ang problema.
"Tungkol ba talaga saan ang kinaga-galit mo?" I rolled my eyes and leaned on the wall of the lift
"Bigla ka nalang nawala kagabi ng walang paalam!" He suddenly snapped. Napaatras ako sa gulat. His face was flushed and his light brown eyes looked... scared. His pupils were dilated and his chest was heaving like crazy
"We tried contacting you but you wouldn't answer. One moment you're drowning yourself in alcohol at the bar and the next you're gone! Without a freaking trace!"
"I-I don't have my phone with me." He smiled bitterly at me
"And then we received this weird text from an unknown number...tapos nakita namin si Jackson and he told us that you left with a stranger!" He was visibly shaking. I slowly reached for his hand but he pulled me into an embrace instead
"We didn't stop looking for you until we're sure that you're home, safe." I patted his back in a weak attempt to console him
"I'm sorry." I whispered and felt him nodding but he didn't let go.
I didn't complain, he felt warm and now that he stopped shaking...he became steady too and in turn I felt anchored, secured. Heaven knows how much I needed some comfort so, I didn't broke away but good things never lasts, not around me.
The elevator pinged open and on the other side stood, my dad, tito Eric, tito Damon and Eros.
