Chapter 10: Smite

"Ano ba kasing nangyari?" Eros asked as the three of us settled inside his mustang

"I was bending my pencil and then it accidentally snapped. You can guess what happened next." I shrugged

"And I also saw her running away from Jackson." Singit ni Dom

"Gusto nya akong makita but I don't want to see him so I ran away."

"Just say the word, Achila." Dom cracked his knuckles. Hindi ko mapigilan matawa

"What, you can take him down? Need I remind you na magaling sya sa Krav Maga?"

"Eros help! Iniinsulto nya ang mga kakayahan ko!" Eros just rolled his eyes at his cousin.

"Don't waste your energy on Jackàss, he's not worth it." I tapped Dom's cheek at dumungaw nalang sa bintana.

I shouldn't have because the lights outside and the blurring trees hit me with a sense of nostalgia.

"Jax?" I called as I entered his condo unit. Tahimik ang buong lugar so that means he's not yet here kaya dumiretso ako sa kusina at ipinatong ang mga grocery sa counter.

He mentioned that he misses his mother's tinola kaya naman I took the initiative at naisipan syang ipag luto. Hindi ako marunong kaya nagtanong tanong muna ako kay Lola Mia, ang mayordoma sa bahay at sa palagay ko naman ay kakayanin ko.

In no time ay naluto narin ang ulam kaya nag saing naman ako ng kanin sa rice cooker and while waiting I decided to clean the place.

Nilinis ko muna ang kusina bago ako nag walis ng sahig at ng dumako ako sa sala ay may nakita akong piraso ng tela sa may ilalim ng couch. I kneeled down to pull it out and with horror I realized that it was a discarded lingerie the color of crimson

Revulsion coursed through my veins kaya naman agad ko iyong hinagis palayo sa akin. Nanginginig ang aking kamay ng bumalik ako sa kusina para mag hugas ng kamay I also unplugged the rice cooker at nag pasyang umalis na doon. I grabbed my purse and tried to calm myself first.

"Come on, Achi...give him the benefit of the doubt." I mumbled to myself and made up my mind. Tama, hindi ako pwedeng basta nalang mag conclude. There's always two sides to a story, right?
But even as I convinced myself na hindi iyon magagawa sakin ni Jackson ay nabalot parin ako ng pag dududa.

I composed myself and took deep breaths before heading for the door but I was just half way through the sala ng bigla iyong bumukas.

And there was Jackson...

Pinning a tall caucasian girl against the door.

"We're here!" Masayang tinig ni Dom ang pumutol sa mga naalala ko at mabilis akong lumabas gaya nya, Eros followed suit but not before giving me a weird look.

Tumingala ako at binasa ang pangalan ng Club

"Smite." How fitting for my emotions

"Gimme," naglahad sa akin ng kamay si Eros at agad ko namang inabot sa kanya ang itim na credit card ko

"Thanks God! I'm not broke anymore!" He kissed the card as if it was the holy grail

"So...sinong gusto ng inumin?" He flashed us his patented mega watt smile at nanguna sa loob

"Sana hindi mo pagsisihan." Bulong ni Dom ng makalagpas na kami sa bouncers

I sighed

"You can say that again." I muttered when I spotted Eros on the bar.
