Narrator-

Savannah plated Natalie's stir fry and turned off the stove. Placing it in a tray, along with a napkin and utensils, Savannah then poured Natalie's tea and neatly arranged the teacup next to the plate.

After making sure all was clean and well balanced, Savannah picked up the tray and began heading back to Natalie's room. While keeping her steps measured and an eye on the items on the plastic tray, Savannah safely made it to Natalie's room without an incident.

She found Natalie typing away on her phone.

"Nathan said he's on his way." Savannah greeted while placing the tray on the nightstand next to Natalie's bed.

"You told him? Oh great." Natalie groaned and turned off her phone.

"What did you want me to do? Lie?" Savannah shrugged.

Natalie sighed.

"No, it's not your fault. I just know I'll be receiving an earful in a few minutes." She admitted.

"You don't say." Savannah added under her breath.

Natalie glanced at Savannah then smiled and shook her head. She reached for the plate and silver fork and brought them over onto the pillow on her lap.

"How's the pain?" Savannah wondered carefully.

"Milder, still waiting for the full effect of my meds." Natalie answered, chatting so casually with her brother's employee, she almost forgot that they had only met today.

"Okay." Savannah expressed before checking the time on her watch.

"I see you're trying to get away, but you still didn't answer my question." Natalie prompted.

Savannah looked up at Natalie in question, and a slight raise of her eyebrow. Then she realized what her boss's sister meant.

"Oh that," Savannah hummed, "well working with Nathan-"

"Oh thank goodness." Savannah was suddenly interrupted by the apparition of Nathan through the door.

She could only imagine just how fast Nathan drove to get here so quickly.

He brushed past Savannah, placing her folder and notepad and her usual take home items in her hands. Savannah grabbed the items in slight shock, which Nathan missed for his eyes were focused on his sister.

"How are you feeling? Did you take your meds?" Nathan bombarded without missing a breath, while touching Natalie's forehead before checking the colors of her fingertips.

"Nathan-" Natalie couldn't get a word out, for Nathan held her chin to check her face and cheeks for possible signs of a rash.

"I'm fine," Natalie pushed Nathan's hand away, "Savannah got me here just in time." Natalie pointed with her chin.

"Savannah," Nathan hummed, "right."

Then suddenly his angry gaze was on the bystanding secretary, who was still surprised by Nathan's accurate delivery of her take home supplies, down to the pen she often tucked inside her folder's sleeve.

"Why is it that bad things only happen when you're around?" Nathan demanded while approaching Savannah and pulling up the sleeves of his shirt.

His tie was already missing. His hair was ruffled from the worried runs of his fingers over his scalp. The top button of his shirt was undone.

Savannah's eyes widened, her mouth falling in shock.

"Wha-" Savannah began, but she had no chance to continue.
