The morning light had given way to the scorching afternoon sun, spreading its warmth to all the dark recesses of the world. The hustle & bustle has increased, as the world rose from its deep slumber, breaking the silence of the gypsies. People were rushing, pushing, stumbling, running to wherever they have to be while I wished to be anywhere than here. Aarej captivating, hypnotizing eyes were zeroed on me. I couldn't decipher the emotions in his deep forest eyes. I was beyond scared, it was the first time I have stopped him. I didn't dare think about the consequences when I knew Tahir Bhai was going to get burnt by Aarej's anger. I interrupted the beast on the hunt, and now I am going to bear the deep-borne fury of the predator, with all of its viciousness. I awaited my ill-born fate with quivering nerves, maintaining my composure with as much dignity as I could muster. I refused to go down meekly, if I had to suffer I will do it, with my head raised, defiant shoulders & straight spine. I stood before him staring into his eyes dauntless, waiting. Our stare-off was interrupted when, the Only Jessica Stanton (note the sarcasm) sashayed in her blood red, knee-length dress which fitted her like a glove, towards us & practically purred

Aarej!

Her sultry informal attitude, with those come-hither looks, was grating on my nerves. To my utter delight, Aarej did not even spare her a glance & remained fixated on me. But Ms.Desperate lady didn't like it one bit & she glared at me icily, moving closer to Aarej, she spoke in a honey-coated voice

Aarej, you know we have to discuss the shipment from Los Angeles!

A deep frown etched on his face, otherwise, he was impassive. I looked to & fro between Aarej & Ms.Despo.I had enough of His silence & Her icy glares. I took the initiative with a tentative approach, I addressed Aarej, ignoring the Evil witch of the West. I whispered, watching him

If you are busy, I can manage...

I didn't even get to complete the sentence & Aarej imprisoned me by my waist, pulling me towards him & uttering a single word with such authority, that I shivered

No!

I glanced at him curiously, while his eyes had heated & were blazing whereas, the wicked witch wasn't pleased to be ignored so blatantly. She inched forward, almost touching Aarej & then, with a deliberate devious look my way, she grasped his arm & argued, in a sugary voice

But, Aarej...

I couldn't stop the bubbling hatred in my belly, vicious fury poured through my veins, choking me. I wanted to punch her botox face so bad, I could taste it...how dare she touches him!...that witch!... I took a deep breath, composing myself I immediately backed away & in the coldest voice, I stated

I think you are busy...If you will excuse me...

The wicked witch gave me a triumphant smirk, while Aarej narrowed his eyes when I moved away from him. He abruptly held my hand, stopping me, and giving Jessica an irritated glance. He again intercepted me, in a hard tone
