Chapter Three

Only a week later, I was attending my first day of college. I felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness.

After getting ready, I set off from the apartment building and made my way to the vintage looking building. It was a huge building with dark bricks and an eerie feeling to it. The grass how ever was incredibly green and the trees shadowed the building in the most haunting way.

You know, the thing I hated the most was lateness. I hated the fact of making my way into a lecture room with everyone's faces turning towards you and blatantly staring at you like you just murdered a figure right infront of their eyes. I hated tardiness, I just loathed it. It was scary, not as scary as the dark, but pretty close to it.

By the time I made it to the building I only had a minute to get to my first class, I went into complete panic. I had no idea were I was supposed to go. I thought leaving 10 minutes earlier would give me plenty of time, I guess I lost track of time while taking in my new surroundings.

Without thinking I ran through the building carrying my books and lugging my bag along with me.

Suddenly, I smashed right into a hard body, I went flailing backwards, the books fell right from my hands and my bag slid underneath me and half way across the floor. I groaned and huffed. The wind was shot from my lungs.

"Woah! Watch where you're going." A familiar voice growled from infront of me. I turned over and made eye contact with green eyes. "Oh, hey Lucy." He greeted sheepishly. What was with his change of mood?

"Jesus Christ, Gabe!" I whined.

"Don't Jesus Christ me! You were the one who collided into my solid chest." Gabe muttered while smirking at exactly the same time.

"Shut up and help me up." I huffed. Gabe stepped forward in a heart beat and quickly took hold of my hands. He hoisted me up in one go, only then I noticed how strong he was. I took a quick glance at my watch and groaned while smacking my forehead.

"What's the matter?"

"I'm late! You made me late, I didn't even know where I was going and now you made me late and I hate being late. Oh Gabe, I hate being late!" I nearly screeched in annoyance and panic. My face must have been a mask of emotions. Gabe looked at me with an emotion I hadn't seen before; concern.

"Come with me."

"No Gabe! I am not truanting with you!" I nearly squealed in exasperation.

"Oh come on. It's college, you can just take that class when you have a free hour." He stated. "Unless you want to be late, because I can clearly see that being late is the worst answer here." Gabe shrugged with a blank expression.

I didn't know what to do. If I did this then I could honestly say I was a little bad ass. I have never done anything so rebellious and wreck less.

"But..." I trailed off.

"There's no reason not to." I sighed in defeat.

"Well, where would we go?" I asked.

"I know a good place, I usaully go there when I'm free for abit or if I just can't be arsed to go to class." Gabe stated like it was the norm. He was so careless, he honestly couldn't care less.

"I'm not sure, Gabe." I said worriedly.

"You worry way too much." He stated. I did, I knew I did. "Nothing is going to happen, just come out with me, trust me." I bit my lip and looked at him with scrunched eyebrows. I thought about it, I probably thought about it abit too much.
