Chapter Six.

Gabe
--------

"Do you like her?"

"What the hell, dude?" I answered. "No!" His eyebrow arched into a questioning gesture.

"So why are you sat here on your arse looking like your dog's just died?" I shrugged while I sat there.

"I'm having a break,"

"From what?" He asked while he dumped his body next to mine.

"Just a chance to relax this weekend,"

"So, it has nothing to do with your cute little neighbour?"

"Christ sake, Kyle! No!" I let out exasperated. The word 'cute' got me angrier than I should have been.

"Come on, Gabe, tell me the truth, I'm your main man, I know when you're lying, and you're lying to me," Kyle stated. I sighed in Fustration, I knew he would know something's up, but the truth is, I don't know why I was like this either.

"Kyle, I'm serious now, I don't know," Kyle sighed.

"Okay, okay," he put his hands up in surrender.

I don't know why I left Lucy the other day standing by her door, I just got so angry. She was so stubborn and she was always rejecting me, nobody rejects me. It was different, I was confused.

Not being able to talk to her has somehow put a downer on my mood, but it was my fault. Maybe I should go and talk to her? Maybe I should make things right again. I couldn't sit here mopping any longer, I needed to talk this out.

I felt guilty for what I did.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Kyle interrupted.

"You'd need a few dollars," I replied. I looked up to the ceiling with a blank expression.

"I heard Amy walking to your apartment last night," Kyle stated all of a sudden. My eyes widened and my hands met my head. I completely forgot about Amy.

"And?"

"I saw you two kissing on the door step. I think everyone in this building could hear her, it's like she tries to be heard," Kyle made his way to the kitchen. "Beer?" I shook my head. He shrugged as if to say 'your loss.'

"Dude,"

"She's beautiful though." He stated. "But the question is, how far did you go?" I sat up straighter on my seat.

"Only kisses," I bit out sheepishly.

"Only-" he shook his head. "Only kisses! What the hell, man! You had Amy Dello's in your apartment and you're telling me you only kissed her?!" I shrugged as if it was no big deal, but it would have been, it is to Kyle and it should have been a big deal to me, yet it wasn't.

I didn't care, the truth is, Amy made me sick, she was slutty, trashy and she most probably had an STI. I didn't know what was happening to me, I just didn't want to be around any girl but Lucy, and that scared me.

"Is there something wrong with you? Do I need to take you to the doctors? Call 911?" Kyle kept asking as he came to touch my head. I shook his hand away while I smiled and chuckled.

"Get your hands off me,"

"There's something different about you, you know?" Kyle said in all seriousness and he sat down on the coffee table opposite me.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Nothing, nothing," Kyle replied as if he had a scenario in his head, but he thought against telling me what it was. I shrugged it off.

"Okay..." I trailed off.

"Look, all I'm going to say is make it up to her," he said before making his way to the door and exiting my apartment without another word uttered. I sat there in shock.

Without a second thought I shot up from my seat and made my way to the door. I looked in the mirror and decided to atleast finger my hair into some sort of presentable style. As soon as I was done I made my way to Lucy's apartment and knocked on her door.

Lucy came out from her apartment to face me after a few seconds. She was still as beautiful. She had a rocking figure, amazing hair and the sexiest face. I knew this girl was going to be the death of me.

"I'm sorry," I said first, Lucy looked as if she was just as sorry as I was, yet there was a look of anger still evident in her eyes.

"Gabe..."

"What?"

"You cheated on your girlfriend last night," she stated matter of fact. I looked at her with furrowed eyebrows.

"What are you on about?"

"I saw that girl make her way to your apartment! You have a girlfriend!" She all but yelled.

"First of all, Lucy, that girl was Amy, and you may have seen me kiss her, but that's all that happened-"

"You still have a girlfriend! You're a sick ba-"

"Let me finish!" I barked. I was getting angrier by the second. Lucy shut her mouth, which was a sign for me to continue. "Second of all, I don't have a girlfriend,"

"Oh, what, you finished her because the guilt of kissing 'Amy'" she said while using quotations with her fingers. "was too much for you?" Her teeth were clenched.

"I never had a girlfriend!" I shouted. Then it suddenly occurred to me. "That girl you met-"

"Kate,"

"Kate, yes," I stated. "She isn't my girlfriend, I had flirted with her for a while, she obviously thought it meant we were dating, she told you we were when we weren't," I said while looking into her eyes, she needed to know I was telling the truth. But it angered me, this was my business.

"But why-"

"Can we forget about it? This is my business after all, Lucy. You have no right to stick your nose in." She looked offended for a couple of seconds, but it seemed to all make sense after a while. She sighed.

"Fine, I'm sorry, Gabe,"

"Let's forgive and forget," I said, Lucy smiled and nodded in agreement. I smiled back.

I stepped in for a hug, she eagerly granted me it. Her little arms circled around my body, and I cuddled her into my chest. I sighed in content. This was perfect. My heart was beating frantically, I hope she couldn't hear it. I was turning into a right girl, this had to stop, but did I want it to?

I didn't want to leave now, I stepped forward into her apartment with Lucy tucked under my arm.

"What's for dinner?"

"Nothing for you," and at this second I knew we were back to normal again, and I wouldn't change it for the world.
