Song: Death Valley - Fall Out Boy
I see you are back. It's time for another story to get you all gossiped up.
Relationships are a big thing right now, at our age. People think they have to be in a relationship. Then there are some people who would prefer not to be in one. And then there are the ones that lie. This is one of those.
Now, you may be thinking that they are lying about being in a relationship, but it is the other way round. They are lying about not being in a relationship. I use 'they', not as a gender neutral term, but rather because there is two of them. You can have a relationship with just one person after all.
These two are Alfie and Zoe. I know, you're just as shocked as I was. They did a good job at hiding it though, had everyone fooled. I don't know why they would want to hide it. Maybe one of their parents didn't approve of their choice of partner. I don't know, but either way, it's out in the open now. No secret is safe, and Alfie and Zoe are the fifth to be exposed.
Dan POV
I walked into school, hearing all the gossip that had been posted last night, the gossip I already knew because I had helped find it out.
*Flashback*
I was on my way to the library to meet Phil after school. I walked up to the usual table that he occupied to find him there flicking through his notebook.
"Hey." I said as I sat opposite him.
"Alright." He greeted.
"So, what do I have to do?" I asked, already dreading it.
"Not sure yet. I'm just looking to see what I already have." He said.
"Can I have a look?" I asked. He looked at me for a second, before cautiously handing me the book. "Calm down, I'm not going to break it." I said as I scanned the page. There were a list names and the secrets he already knew. A few names had been crossed off the list, people whose secrets were already out in the open. "Why is mine still on here?" I asked.
"Because it's a secret, and you are in the class." He said.
"You said you weren't going to post it." I said.
"Yeah, but I didn't say I would get rid of it." He told me. I sighed.
"Alfie's name is blank." I said.
"I haven't found one for him yet." He told me. "Anything you want to share?" He asked. I thought for a second.
"Actually, there is." I said.
"Go on." He said.
"Well, in English, he was texting someone. I could read what he was saying from where I was sitting. As far as I was concerned, he didn't have a girlfriend, but the text messages said otherwise." I told him.
"Who were they to?" He asked.
"The name said Zoe. I don't know if that is Zoe in our class, or another Zoe." I said.
"We need to find out. Come on." He said, getting up and stuffing the notebook into his bag.
"Whoa, wait a minute. Where are we going?" I asked, catching up to him as he started walking out.
"To see if we can find then." He said, walking out the library.
"No offence, but I can't be seen with you." I told him. He stopped walking and looked at me. "Well if people see us together, they will think something is up. We're not friends, remember." I said.
"Well that was rude." He said. I rolled my eyes. "We'll just have to try and avoid people from school then, wont we?" He asked rhetorically, then carried on walking.
