The venue was an outside one, despite the dark clouds that threatened rain hanging in the sky. Everyone was gathering in a large tent that had been set up just in case the sky decided to release. Patrick walked alongside Dallon and Ryan as they made their way to one of two smaller tents.
Dallon was already in costume. He was dressed as the eleventh doctor, complete with a crooked fez atop his head.
"So wait in here, Pat." Ryan said once they made it to one of the smaller tents, "I'm going to go change & check to see when they'll be ready for ya." He winked before hurrying off.
"Costume looks great, Patrick." Dallon commented as he stepped into the tent with him.
Patrick smiled, "Thanks, you too. If you're the doctor, though, who are Breezy and the baby?"
Dallon laughed as he tugged at his tweed jacket, "Breezy is dressed as River song, wig and all, while my little girl is dressed up as a mini tardis."
"That sounds adorable." Patrick laughed, trying to use Dallon's words as a distraction from his nerves.
"Have you seen everyone else's costumes yet?" Dallon asked, sensing Patrick's nerves. "There seems to be a running theme with mostly everyone."
Before Patrick could respond, two heads peaked into the tent. Max and Steven grinned as they both stepped inside. Steven was dressed as if he was some kind of scout, complete with a backpack, baseball cap, and a yellow bandana with a black smudged smile line. Max was dressed in tattered clothing with red angel wings behind him.
"I love the look!" Max said as he looked Patrick up and down, "Got a little bit of devil with some angel eyes." He smiled with a soft laugh as he locked his arm with Steven's.
"Thanks." Patrick smiled, "You guys too."
"Just wait until you see everyone else!" Max exclaimed, "It's hilarious out there, the wedding photos will be unforgettable."
"Ray actually came as a piece of broccoli." Steven grinned.
"No way, I've got to see that." Dallon laughed before running out of the tent.
"Are you excited?" Max asked, "They're almost ready for you out there."
"Ready as ever." Patrick smiled, nervously. He really just wanted to see Pete again. That lonely twinge was tugging at his heart again. He just wanted to be in Pete's arms...
"Do you have anyone to walk you down the isle?" Max asked as he leaned against Steven.
Patrick shook his head. "My parents are still overseas so they couldn't make it..."
Max frowned, but Steven had a knowing smile on his face. "Don't worry, dude, we've got you covered."
Patrick felt himself smile but, before he could say anything, breezy rushed into the tent. She had a frizzy blond wig on her head, a light brownish gray dress, and knee high leather boots. She grinned at the three boys. "Hello, sweetie."
"That looks incredible." Patrick awed at her outfit, "But where's the mini tardis?"
"Hayley's got her." Breezy explained before pointing to Steven and Max, "Out! We're about to start!"
"Oh..." Patrick felt like he had been punched in the stomach. He was so ready, but he was so scared. It didn't make sense. He loved Pete. He loved him for what felt like a thousand years, even if it was so much less in all reality...
"Patrick?"
Patrick looked up to see only Breezy in the tent with him. She looked at him, worriedly. "Are you okay? Do you need a minute?"
