Once I explained they all had fright on their face as well. There was only one thing I hadn't told them yet..and I was afraid to. "And there's one more thing...The fait of tar, you remain just how you are, the fait of leaves all around, sadly it takes over up from the ground. The fait of fire is death or just a plain liar." They let the words sink in their heads slowly but surely. They all realized we had to hurry. "Maybe our fait isn't really..as true as we think." Rina nervously exclaimed. "That's easy for you to say because you're not going to die are you!?" Gracin hollered. "At least you all are prepared for it! What the hell is mine suppose to mean? I don't know what's going to happen to me!" Jada hollered. Jillian in the crib started to cry. "You guys!" I hollered. The only sound heard now was the wailing of the baby. I walked over and picked him up to comfort him. I looked down into his sweet eyes and comforted him. "We're all going to be okay." Jada started to cry. "You can't be sure of that Morgan. What about us? What about my baby!?" I walked to her and handed Jillian to her. She smiled with a single tear dropping down her cheek she looked down at her baby which was now sucking on his fist. She stroked his head and held him close to her. "I'm sorry Jada that I can't promise but,..I can promise your baby will be alright." She hugged me and I hugged her tight too. I knew that everyone was scared. We had to make it out though. We had to take action. I stood up straight and tried to remain as emotionless as possible and stay strong. "Okay everybody. let's go." They all got up and after Driagon and Brus slung a couple bags over their shoulders they helped Gracin up. I looked at Gracin and Driagon as they got ready to go. I was about to cry to bare to think that..they would die soon. I looked away from them hoping it would prevent my tears. I went to get ready and I could see Rina was having the same look on her face as I was. I went over to her and patted her back. "Don't forget Rina, your a great Iccasa." She shook her head. "No you are. Your a great Iccasa, Bria, and and Babos. That's why you are beyond what anybody in this group is. You're too special to be some made up word that I created." She laughed. "You're the perfect one. You're the one that anybody would want to look up to." I hugged her. Once we were all ready we headed out. I saw the mark on the wall and it was at the very top of the wall now. It was almost ready to disappear. We had to hurry. "Come on." I motioned my arm down the hall. We all did a slow jog down the halls. I saw a figure though so I put my hand up to stop. I saw a figure I could barely make out in the distance but it didn't look like a creature. It saw us though and it came closer and closer. It was a human but it came after us screaming. I tried killing it, we all did except Jada..she ran away down the other hall. This shape shifter was definitely hard to kill. It was harder to kill than any of the others. It was different too, it didn't change, it kept on human form. We tried stabbing it but it knocked us off our feet. Gracin tried biting it but it punched him. It was doing all sorts of things a shape shifter wouldn't normally do and then...it spoke. "Hahaha!" It gave a wicked laugh. "You fools you will never kill me!!!" Shape shifters..couldn't speak. This was human, a human gone insane. This is what I've been warned about. The monster that was after us was simply a human. "Anyways you all aren't what I'm after. Haha you all are not the ones that took what rightfully belonged to me and ran away. Hahah." He sniffed the air like a hound. "I know were she hides too." He ran like a cheetah. He zoomed past us before we could stop him. We ran after him but couldn't catch up until when we turned the corner we heard a scream. He was trying to take Jilllian. "Stop!!" I screamed. We all ran full speed and Driagon beat anyone to him. Driagon yelled and pulled back his weapon. He was ready to put an end to him but right when he raised up the man whipped out a knife...and stabbed Driagon right in the chest. "No!!" Rina screamed pitifully Driagon fell to the ground bleeding. "Oh don't worry!ahhah it won't be long!" He ran away now. He dashed into the halls of the maze and disappeared in an instant. We all rushed down to Driagon. He was coughing up blood now. Rina bursted into tears. "No! You can't go! You can't leave me!" "Rina.." he was able to say a few words. "Rina I" "and I'm sorry! I'm sorry for ever treating you badly! I'm sorry I didn't give you the time I should've! I'm sorry I.." "Rina let him talk." I whispered to her. "Rina stop," he reached his hand up to her face. "You have done remarkable things for this group, all of you have. If it weren't for any of you I wouldn't have made it this far. It's my fait to die here. Just promise me.." he started to cough he could barley speak. "Promise me...you will free the souls and look out for the group." He let out his last breath and Rina cried and laid down on him, not caring that blood got on her. I cried too and sobbed with Rina. Even Bruscular and Gracin sobbed. We surrounded him crying. I wasn't crying for what they were though. I wasn't just crying because he was gone. I was crying because I didn't know if I was able to promise both of those. I didn't know if I could keep the group safe..and free his soul. We cried and cried. Jada cried too. I think she felt the most bad. Her fault or not, I wasn't going to put any more blame on any one. That wouldn't help any situations. We decided to call it a night. We fell asleep there to have just one more night beside Driagon. Maybe his soul was gone, but his body laid there. We slept beside him. Once we woke we got out things together and Brus just decided to carry Gracin so things would be easier. Once we packed up our stuff and we're ready to continue down the path, we went. Before we made a turn though I looked back at Driagon one more time. That was the last time I would see him. We walked and I caught up to Jada. "So Jada," she didn't look at me. I don't think she wanted to talk about a thing she was ashamed as is, but I needed to know what was going on. "Jada who was that?" She ignored me and continued looking at her feet as she walked. "Jada I'm sorry, but I need to know." She glanced up at me and back down again. After a moment I heard her clear her throat. "That was Trennor, my husband." I was in sort of shock by what she just said but I tired to make it seem like it wasn't a big deal. I cleared my throat now. "So.. you took his baby from him?" "Our baby" she quietly corrected. "My baby now." She said. It wasn't a very pleasant way she put it either or how she said it. "What happened?" She looked up at me. I could see now that it was very dark under her eyes. After last night I don't think she got any sleep. "Do you really..want to know?" I nodded my head. She looked ahead. She took breath and began as we walked. "I met him at 18 and he was 24. Well I instantly thought we were in love. We were the ones that everybody wished to be like. Everybody had a good feeling about us. Everybody thought we were the perfect couple except, for the maze keeper. I've been here longer than you and your friends have Morgan. Before you went to the maze they had a maze keeper. He was very strange. He always had a horrible feeling about Trennor. Eventually we got married and had Jillian, we lived a great happy life. It was anything a woman could wish for." Her expression changed. "I loved taking Jillian for walks around at the park and, sometimes in the maze. One day I went there and I didn't realize it was closed. Once I went in the man was standing there..in the center of the maze. Once I got there he started screaming at me to get out. Once I got out I went home and..I found Trennor was at another house with another woman. I ran away with Jillian because I also found out that he did drugs and..other things I don't want to speak of." She looked down almost in tears. "Everywhere I tried to go was locked or closed and nobody would pick up the phone. He was after me now so the only place I could go was the maze. I ran in but when I ran in all saw was a glimpse of the keeper shaking his head in disappointment at me." She stopped talking for a moment and we just walked. After several minutes she spoke again. "So on so fourth. I got lost and found the little door." A little bit before you all found me. I saw from the camera to the outside that he was coming. He was at the edge of the maze and he looked up at the camera. Slowly like he was some evil creature came up to the camera and once he got close enough he ripped it off were it sat and threw it on the ground. I knew that I was in big trouble." "I thought only the ones that were chosen could fall down." I questioned her. "Sadly anyone that you had ever deeply loved can fall down too, chosen or not." I realized something then. "Do you know what that means Jada? Jillian isn't chosen. He'll be safe!" I exclaimed. "Or, I could be the one that isn't chosen. It could be Jillian." My smile faded. "It could be Jillian that's taken over from the ground." We stared for a moment and then something interrupted. "Bang bang!" Was all I heard. An instant reaction was for us to fall down to the ground. It sounded like a gunshot. When we slowly inched towards the edge of the wall I saw another human..but with a gun. "Hey!" I screamed. It instantly shot at the voice and we all hid. Once I heard it coming towards the edge of the wall Jada was freaking out. "Morgan it's coming.." she whispered and poked at me. I kept quiet. "Morgan it's coming." Its feet came right to me and the gun was pointed down at me now. "Morgan!" Jada screamed but before he could pull the trigger I leapt up and stabbed it in the heart. It wasn't a human after all. It's eyes turned black and skin white. It was shape shifter...with a gun. As I stabbed it in the heart I looked down with sadness. "I'm sorry..you're soul will be free soon." It fell to the ground and the body slowly disappeared. The only thing that remained was the gun. I kneeled down on the ground and picked it up. They all huddled around me but Jada still sat to catch her breath. I examined the fully loaded gun in my hand. "How did a shape shifter get a gun?" Jada spoke between heavy breaths. "It might of some how stolen it from Trennor. He probably has a lot of weapons." "Well thank you Trennor." I said quietly then stood up. I put the gun in my pocket. "Come one you guys, we aren't too far away." We started to walk again and Brus helped up Jada then Gracin. As we walked I stopped because I heard something else shortly after. It was coming from the wall. I put my ear to the wall and so did the rest of them. There was a room on the other side of the wall and I heard a noise. "Click clock, clickity clock, click clock, clickity clock." The sound stopped here and there, then started again. Once I was up to the wall though...my sword glowed. It glowed a vibrant color. So I realized we had to go into that room. "Come on you guys!" Rina hollered before I could. When we cheerfully ran to the room there was a door. I had never seen a room in the maze with a door. I put my hand on the knob and I looked back at them. They waited and watched, as I turned the knob and opened the creaky door.
