•I'm not the type of girl for you, and I'm not going to pretend, that I'm the type of girl you call more than a friend. And I break all the rules for you, break my heart and start again. I'm not the type of girl you call more than a friend•
Your Type; Carly Rae Jepson.

The cold breeze burned, as if it was going to eat her up inside and out.
Maya pulled her jacket tighter to her chest, trying not to cry. Life was so unfair. She was so confused.
It had only been a month, but she felt as if she had lost everything.
But it was true, she had.
She lost Riley, her best friend. For dang sake, she didn't even know why they weren't talking!
And she lost Farkle.
And Zay.
And she even missed Smackle.
But Riley and one other person were the only two she missed so badly it hurt.
Riley and Lucas.
But that was because she loved him, and he didn't love her back.
She would always just be that girl that he was friends with, and nothing more.
And she wasn't even friends with him anymore.
Maya walked into her apartment, where she was surprised to find her mother sitting there.
"Hey baby girl!" Katy says. "I got off early! I haven't gotten off early in years!"
Maya put on a fake smile as she took off her coat. "No geez."
"Maya, why are you wearing that? It's against the dress code."
Maya shook her head and snickered. "I don't care about the dress code. What are they gonna do about it? Suspend me?"
"Well," Katy replied. "I care about it."
"Mom," Maya whines.
"Maya," Katy says sternly to her daughter. "I don't know what's going on with you lately. You're walking around school in just practically a sports bra-"
"It's not a sports bra," Maya says, putting her hands on her hips. "It's a crop top, there's a huge difference."
"Whatever," Katy replied. "What I was saying was that Riley would never let you wear that. What's going on with you two? She's never here anymore!"
"You're never here," The girl mutters to her mother.
"Maya," She replied. "Tell me."
"Riley and I are no longer friends."
Katy looked shocked, her daughter's bond with the Matthew's child was stronger than their own bond. How could that get broken apart?
Maya stared at her confused Mother. She felt a few tears slip down her face.
"Why?"
The teen choked on her tears, and squeaked out a simple I don't know.
"Aww... come here baby girl," She whispers.
The Hart's stand in their apartment hugging. One silent and the other crying.
Maya just wanted to know what she'd done.
----------
"Hurt, anger, fear..." Cory lectured. "Is what started so many wars, so many losses. People let their emotions control them, and they regret the decisions they make..."
Maya stared down at her desk. She hated how Cory's lectures always seemed to be about her in some way.
But she never did anything wrong!
She caught Brandon staring at her, so she smiled at him. He smiled back.
"So, your project will be to write a speech on some things that anger you about the partner I'll be giving you. It can be something that's happened in the past or the present. Somewhere in your speech, you must include something about how you two could not have that war against each other."
Riley raises her hand, and she scoffs.
"Will we be able to pick our partner Daddy? Because Lucas might be too perfect to find flaws in," She says with a smile.
Lucas takes Riley's hand, and kisses her cheek.
A wildfire of jealousy begins to bubble through my veins.
"I don't know if Riley has any flaws, Mr. Matthews."
"The both of you have plenty of flaws," Maya snaps.
At that moment, the whole classroom of students turns in their seats to face her.
"She speaks," Smackle says.
"Yes, I do speak. My partner is going to be Brandon," She shoots.
"I will be choosing your partners," Mr. Matthews says.
"You suck," Maya says.
"Detention after school Miss. Hart," He replies.
"Fine."
"So, as I was saying. I'll be picking your partners. So... let's see... Riley and Farkle. Smackle and Charlie..."
The names kept flowing out of his mouth, and Maya couldn't care less about the names.
Well except for the last two.
"Maya and Lucas."
Crap.
