Summer Thomas

I glared at my little sister."Summer! You should be cleaning your room, not bothering the baby!" I huffed. Was not! I'm Summer Thomas. I'm the middle child in the family. This is basically my whole family:

There's my awesome older brother, Sky. He's 17 and has brown hair with sky blue eyes, hence the name Sky. He swims on the high school swim team and plays basketball. He could do anything!

There's my younger sister, Lillian. She has blonde hair and dark blue eyes. She's 2 years old and was still called a baby. I didn't like my sister 'cause she sucked all the attention to her! They don't even acknowledge me and I bet they didn't realize I'm here sometimes!

There's my mom. She has platinum blonde hair and sky blue eyes. She's a guitar and choir teacher at my school and I take guitar. She at least knows I exist at school.

There's my dad who has brown hair and amber eyes. He works at a marine company, saving marine creatures' lives. He's very funny and laid back.

Then there's me. I have dirty blonde hair with amber/yellow eyes and I'm 12 years old. I play basketball and soccer. This season is basketball season and I made the team! I also like to do art, play guitar, hang out with my dog, Chewy, and Sky, and watch football with my dad.

I don't really have a good relationship with my mom ever since she gave birth to Lillian. Sigh, well that's how life is for me. I glared at my mom."Fine!" I stomped up stairs and cleaned my room. It took me 2 minutes because I'm really organized.

The next day was just as bad. My mom sighed."Summer, I checked your grades and you have a C in English. You really need to try hard-" I interrupted her."I am trying! Really! I am! Your to busy with Lillian to see that!" She glared at me."Summer Anne Thomas! Don't pull your sister into this!"

I grabbed my backpack that I bring to my friend's, Zoe, house. I slammed the door. I saw Sky shooting hoops with his friends."Nice one Sky!" I sneaked around them and ran away. No one would care. They'd be happy, well my mom would.

I knocked on Zoe's door. I saw her older brother, Cast, answer the door."Summer! I didn't know you were coming!" I nodded."Yes, I forgot to call." He smiled."It's okay. Zoe's in her room." I thanked him and ran up stairs. I saw Callie and Zoe talking. They stared at me.

"Summer! I didn't know you were coming!", exclaimed Zoe. I sighed at flopped onto her bed. Callie noticed my sadness."What's wrong Summer?" I sat up and grabbed my bag."I'm running away!" Their jaws dropped."WHAT?!" I covered their gapping mouths."Sh! Be quiet!," I whispered.

Callie replaced a determined face."Me too!" Zoe followed soon after."Yup! Count me in!" They gathered their stuff and we headed out.

Sky looked around. Where on Earth did Summer go? He walked back inside and saw his dad talking with his mom."You should be a little more kind to her. She's going to be a teen and she needs support." "I know that! She's my daughter! I gave birth to her!", shouted mom.

Sky intervened."Mom, dad! Where's Summer?" They immediately stopped fighting."I thought see went outside." His dad snorted."She brought her backpack with her." They immediately grabbed Lillian and drove to the Jackson household. His mom banged on the door.

Surprisingly, Selena opened up."Hello!" Mom gave her a forced smile."Hi, where's your mother?" Selena frowned."Say please! Daddy said saying please is nice!" Dad grumbled something and then replied,"Please get your mother."

She tipped her head to the left side."Why?" Mom was about to burst then Mr. Jackson saved us."Selena Sally Jackson! Don't answer the door!" She sighed."Yes daddy." She skipped to the living room. He smiled."What's up?"

"Is Summer here?" Mr. Jackson shook his head."No, I thought Zo, Callie, and Summer were at your house!" Mom and dad looked like they were about to throw up. Mr. Jackson invited us in and tried to cheer up them. Sky saw Mr. and Mrs. Valdez bursted through the back door.

"Gah! What the Hades, Leo?!" Hades? "Have you and Annabeth seen Callie?!" They started to do the same thing again. Mrs. Jackson ran in."Percy! Zoe, Summer and Callie ran away!" Sky dropped his jaw."What?!", yelled the parents. She showed them the note.

Dear moms and dads(and siblings),

We are running away. Summer doesn't think that her parents love her, well her mom. Mom, dad(this is Zoe) I went because mom said to be there for your friends. Oh, so did Callie.

I collapsed on a park bench."I'm tired! Can we stop?" Callie complained,"I'm hungry! And tired! Is that possible?!" Zoe did a 360 turn and plopped down her things."Fine! We'll stay here!" I stared at her."How are you still awake?!" She rolled out her sleeping bag."My mom and dad taught me."

Callie was munching on trail mix."I miss my family!" Surprisingly, I nodded."Yeah, for once I miss my mom." Callie sighed."It's like I can here them now."

I listened and I heard them!"Summer!", called my family."Zo!", called the Jacksons."Cal! Where are you?!", called the Valdez's.

We ran to our parents and hugged them."Oh, I missed you!", said my mom and kissed my head."I'm sorry mom! I won't run away again!", I cried.

We made up and everything is fine.
