All Jacked Up

I just realized how many mistakes I made in my last chapter XD sorry 'bout that - Rebecca 

"-and here is where your room is! You'll only be in here for a couple of days, the first dorm move in day is sometime next week, so don't unpack too much." Felix said, concluding our house tour. I thanked him and flopped on my bed. As soon as he was gone, I pulled my Septiceye Sam out of my backpack. 

"Oh and I'll be in the living room if you'll need me!" He said, throwing the door open, causing me to jump and cram Sam back into my bag. He then closed it without waiting for my response. I opened my phone and look at who I texted last. It was my girlfriend, well, ex girlfriend. We both decided to use this opportunity to meet new people. I have a strange feeling in the pit of my stomach, I can't tell if it's excitement, nerves, or homesickness. Or all three who knows. 

I fall asleep thinking about what is in store for me here in this new place.

Felix threw open the door in a grand gesture, this was the building I would be living in for the next three years. We walked up to the desk, the lady handed him a key, and then turned her attention to me. 

"And what's your name son?" 

"Sean McLoughlin." 

She looked in the book on her desk, then reached into a cab it full of keys and handed one to me. "Here you go Sean." 

I thanked her and followed Felix to the elevator. 

"So what room did you get?" 

"498." 

He looked at me. "498?" 

"Yeah... Why?" 

"Oh nothing, it's just that's one of my friends' room, he just lost his roommate." Did he die? He must have seen the odd look I was giving him and decided to clarify. 

"He's fine! He just went back to Britain." 

"Oh ok." The elevator dinged and we walked out. We walked all the way to the end of the hall and I used my key to open the door. I looked in and saw a rather handsome lad sitting on what I'm assuming is his bed, looking at a picture frame he held I his hands. He didn't even hear us come in. 

Felix stepped in front of me. "Mark?" 

He lifted his head. "Oh hey Felix." Was all he said as he then went back to looking at the frame in his hands. I placed my bags on the empty bed, "That's my bed." He said without looking up. I blinked at him, so I picked up my bags and put them on the floor next to the bed Mark was sitting on. 

I walked up to the edge of his bed and extended my hand. "Hi, my name is Sean, but you can call me Jack." 

Instead of turning to face me and shake my hand, he just sat there.  I looked at the picture in his hand.  It was him, (I think, I can't really see 'Mark's' face) and of another boy with brown hair. Mark had the boy scrunched up against his face, arm tightly around his shoulder. 

My hand started to drop and my smile faultered. I was about to put my hand down and walk out when he looked up. 

His expression was blank, but I could see the sadness that was there, and the surprise. So I reinforced my hand that was still extended to him. 

"My name is Sean, but you can call me Jack." He was hesitant, but he placed the framed picture in his lap and extended his hand. 

"Mark." 

"Nice to metcha Mark." 

He nodded at me. "I suppose, you'd want me to go to my own bed?" 

I smiled at him. "Nah you're fine." I looked back and Felix. 

"I'm heading out anyway." I started to back away towards the door, "but uh, I'll see you around right?" 

I saw something in his face then, I don't know what it is, but it's something. I then turned and walked out and walked out the door with Felix. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Felix punched my arm, and smiled at me. 

"So, wanna go get some food?" 

I am so so so so so so so so sorry for the delay! It's been, hectic around here for awhile and I have t had a chance to write! So I'm going to keep throwing chapters out tonight since school was canceled. Ok choa lovelies - Rebecca
