It was during lunch, the end of the week of October 1st. Mark and I had a test in science that week, and we decided to do some last minute studying during lunch.
"What is the power house of the cell?" He asked.
"Mitochondria." I answered.
He nodded and looked over his notes one more time.
"What are you two studying for?" Dan asked.
"Science, you do know we have a test today right?" I said to him, but by the way his eyes got wide and his face grew pale, I don't think he did.
"Sh*t! Phil! Why didn't I know!?"
"I told you I was studying last night! I even asked you to study with me! I guess Tumblr was more important." Phil said, putting his hamburger in his mouth.
Dan quickly got up. "Where are you going?" Tyler asked.
"I've got to fetch my notebook!" He called turning his head a bit to answer.
"Dan! could you grab my camera out of my locker?" Phil called.
"Sure!" He said as he started running backwards to answer his friend. As he was turning to run forwards, he tripped over someone was walking to their table with their lunch. He stumbled back and tripped over the leg of someone's chair. His hands went out behind him so he could catch himself. But it didn't quite work out like that. The lunch room rang with a loud cracking sound.
Phil was the first one to his feet, and he darted over to Dan's side. Dan was wailing, and I'm pretty sure the girl that sat by the table he tripped over was throwing up. The rest of us just sat in our seats shocked. Phil helped Dan to his feet, he was shaking and holding his wrist against his chest.
"Well, at least he doesn't have to worry about that test anymore." Mark said. Matthias punched him lightly on the arm.
I poked him, "that doesn't mean we're off the hook. Come on, we need to keep going." I said, and he smiled just a bit.
"Ok, next question."
