You swiftly run up the stairs of you and your boyfriends shawn's house after your morning jog. Shawn was working late last night so you decided to let him sleep while you slipped out of bed for a nice morning work out. He had a very exciting day ahead of him, he was planning on going back into the studio to finally record the single he's been working on. You creaked open the door of your bedroom, shawn still in a deep sleep, you tip toed to the bathroom to shower. As you passed the bed you heard shawn wheezing a little, it was kind of strange but you shrugged it off. You continued on your way to the bathroom.
You shut the door, peeled off your sweaty clothes, and refreshed in the shower. You put on some gym shorts a hoodie and some socks. Shawn was still soundly asleep as you passed by. You went downstairs to make some coffee. You heard a small cough from shawn upstairs, and then another, then another, each time getting louder and closer together. It was beginning to get a bit much, you walked up stairs to see what was going on.
As you pushed open the door, a miserable looking shawn was revealed. His hair sticking up all over the place, his eyes swollen, red and glossy, his skin tone flushed, his lips dry, and a little bit of snot coming out of his nose (ew yes ik gross). Tissues on the floor surrounded the bed. He sat propped up against the wall, slouching, with his arms spread, laying to the sides of him.
"Hey baby" he croaked as he saw you come in, his voice cracking, almost gone.
"Shawn, my love, you do not look good" you pouted, making your way over to him.
"No, i'm sure i'm fine" he sniffled, "probably just a little tired from yesterday, that's all" the soreness of his throat very obvious.
You place your hand his forehead "you are burning up! don't tell me you are not sick" you exclaim. You get up to go grab the thermometer. You give it to shawn, waiting anxiously for it to beep. You look at it, your eyes bulge as the thermometer reads 101.3.
"Oh no mister, you are not working today, we need to get this fever down. I'm going to go call Andrew" you get up, heading for your phone.
"Wait! it's fine i can still go" Shawns voice cracked. He scrambled to get up to catch you. You could see as he stood up, he felt light headed. He stopped in his tracks, trying to catch his balance, he put his hand up to his head as if trying to get his vision straight. He continued to walk out of the room stumbling and catching himself holding onto the door frame. "woah" he mumbled to himself. You turned around and walked back to him, "yeah, i don't think so" you grab his arm, guiding his dizzy body back to the bed. He reaches out for it, puts his hands down leaning on it, spinning himself around slowly sitting down, trying not to fall over in his dizzy state. He lays down closing his eyes. still coughing and sneezing occasionally.
"Just stay here, i'll be right back" you slightly laugh, it didn't look like he was going anywhere anytime soon. He groaned in response. You called Andrew and told him what was up, he understood and assumed Shawn probably just over worked himself as usual, but it's never gotten this far.
You walk back in, to find shawn laying in the same spot "I don't feel goooodddd" he groaned, trying to sit up. "I know, the best we can do is try to get you better". All day Shawn did what any person with a fever would do, he laid in bed. You got him soup and muffins (obvi) and took care of him like a mom. Every now and then you would walk on the room and Shawn would be asleep, breathing with his mouth wide open due to his stuffed nose. Even though he was sick, he still managed to look adorable.
You sat down on the bed next to him, his eyes fluttered open and he looked up at your, a smile spreading across his face. You stroked your hand through his hand. "hey love, how ya feeling?" you asked. He shrugged as his eye lids once again grew heavy, sleep getting ready to take over. His long arm wrapped around your waist and he kissed your head. His breathing slowing as he was fully asleep. As much as you didn't want to get sick, you couldn't bare to leave him. Next thing you knew the next week he was the one taking care of you.
