Interruptions

I leaned in too, wanting to kiss him. As soon as we were nearly a centimeter away from kissing I heard footsteps approaching.

"Nicole!" Harris said as Matthew and I spread apart.

"I was so worried!" Harris said hugging me tightly. "I thought you got hurt! Its not what you thi-"

"I know, Matthew explained already." I said cutting him off looking down, disappointed I couldn't kiss Matthew.

"We should go back." Matthew said awkwardly walking ahead.

We all walked in silence back to Matthew's house. As we approached the door I decided to speak up.

"I'm sorry for being dramatic or whatever." I said to Matthew. We were just standing at the doorway, Harris was already inside.

"No, you weren't being dramatic, I understand it really did seem stupid to do that. I truly am sorry for going through with that bet. I just got a bit jealous when Jake said he liked you." Matthew said looking down as he said the last part blushing slightly.

"Oh, well I don't like Jake." I said laughing a bit.

"Oh well I wanted to-" Matthew said but was cut off by Jorden.

"Are you guys coming in or what?" he said closing the door as we walked in.

"We'll talk later?" I said looking at Matthew apologetically. He simply nodded in response. I wonder what he was gonna say. I have to go see if Alyssa is still mad at me.

Where is Alyssa? I hope she stopped making out with Jake. I looked in the living room and saw Alyssa. I walked up to her and sat down.

"Can we talk now?" I said looking her in the eyes.

"Fine." She said as she walked into the kitchen as I followed her.

"I'm really sorry about the whole Jake thing and if it made you mad I just didn't want you t-" I was cut off by Alyssa laughing.

"I'm not mad at you, I just got jealous because I liked Jake. I'm the one who should be sorry for freaking out. I shouldn't have gotten mad at you. I'm just trying to say sorry. I was being silly. Oh, and I know Jake doesn't like you anymore." She said laughing as she pulled me in for a hug. I gladly accepted and hugged her back.

"We cool?" I said

"Yeah, we're cool." She said letting go of the hug.

"Let's go with the boys." She said walking into the living room.

"So what do you guys wanna do?" Jake said.

"LET'S BUILD A GIANT FORT!" I said jumping up and tearing the couch apart.

"You're such a 5 year old sometimes!" Alyssa said laughing, helping me.

Everyone joined in and in about an hour we had a fort built so all of us could fit. It was huge! I was surprised all 6 of us fit.

"Oh my god this looks so cool!" Matthew said as he crawled in along with the rest of us.

"Well I don't know about you guys but I wanna sleep in here." I said as I got up to go change into my pajamas. I got changed into a hoodie and some shorts.

"Guys, I'm hungry." I said as my stomach grumbled.

"I'll go put a frozen pizza in the oven." Matthew said as everyone went out of the fort.

After we ate everyone went back into the fort.

I walked into the fort and everyone was in their sleeping spots. There was one spot open in the middle of Alyssa and Jorden so I took that spot. Jake was next to Alyssa and they were talking so I decided to just go to sleep.

About an hour later everyone was sleeping and I couldn't fall asleep. I decided to go get a glass of water. I stepped out of the fort, careful not to step on everyones sleeping bodies.

I stood in the kitchen and got my water. I turned around and got startled because Matthew was standing there looking at me.

"We never got the chance to talk." He said sounding groggy from sleep. Oh my god it was hot.

"Oh, okay." I said.

"Well, I was going to ask you if you wanted go on a date with me. Just give it a try and if you don't want to go on another one, I'll back off." He said blushing.

"Of course I'll go on a date with you Matthew." I said. I noticed we were really close. I looked from his eyes to his lips back to his eyes as he did the same.

I leaned in closer until I felt Matthew's lips on mine. It was a small peck but it was amazing.

"I guess you won the bet, Matthew." I said as he smiled.
