---Milo's POV---
As I watched the pack roam around, I couldn't help but snuggle closer to Felix and pant happily. Everything had been said and they were discussing something about who should be marking me as pack; my father or the alpha?
I didn't care oddly enough. They had made it very clear that Felix was very much welcomed in their pack as well and that they would make arrangements with his parents so my boy could stay right here beside me.
Turning on my side to enjoy a good belly scratch, I spotted Charlie pacing near the door, closely watched by Dimitri. She was biting her thumb nail while looking at her phone, seemingly torn between calling or tucking it away.
Dimitri seemed no better as he often made a move to intercept her, reaching out only to pull back at the last second and sighing to himself.
Fingers curled through the fur on my throat, making me arch my head back while my tail flopped around wildly. Felix chuckled softly before glancing up a few moments later. I followed his example before huffing as a fluff ball jumped on my face.
Tucking my lips over my teeth, I grumbled lowly and opened my jaws, nipping at the squirming Koda. The pup yipped happily, backing up a few steps only to drop through his legs, wriggle his furry butt in the air and pounce again.
He tugged on my ears as I pawed at him, pushing myself over the floor as Koda yipped and pawed at me playfully. A few seconds later the pup dashed away, tripping over his own paws before it disappeared around the corner.
Seconds later it appeared again and my ears swiveled forwards as he was chomping down on a squeaking ball. Tilting my head to the side I leaned forwards slightly, sniffing at the ball as Koda paused before dropping it, nudging it closer.
Pfff, why would I wanna....play with it...
I sniffed at the ball, giving it a hesitant squeeze and dropped it as it squeaked before sniffing it again. Grabbing it between my teeth, I bit down harder and earned a longer squeak.
This is actually pretty addicting....
Koda seemed to agree as he nipped at my cheek, trying to pry the ball away from me while I playfully tried to move around him, biting on the squeaky thing. I was pretty sure several of the adults were looking on with indulging smiles as I brought the ball to Felix.
My boy didn't seem that much impressed and curled his nose up in an adorable way when I dropped the slightly slobbery ball in his outstretched hand. He shivered and tossed it away, which made my body freeze for a split second, ears pinned up.
Before I was able to give chase much like Koda was doing, scrambling between feet and bumping into furniture, I was caught off guard by a massive wolf towering over me. Ears flicking back, I growled protectively but lowered down as I could easily tell this was the Alpha wolf.
He growled back as well, making me flatten on the floor in clear submission before he grabbed me by the scruff. I froze, expecting him to bite down and shake but he simply held me for a few moments before settling me down again.
Whispers and murmurs started to fill my head, making my ears flatten as I glanced around before scurrying back to Felix.
What the hell is going on?
"Easy pup, it's just the pack connection." My head snapped up towards the wolf, who was staring at me patiently from where he sat. I pressed myself closer against Felix, needing his reassurance and touch to ground me.
For a moment my eyes flitted to him but I felt even more confused as this time I could hear him clearly, even if he wasn't making those signs.
There was the overwhelming sensation of happiness and comfort, a int of delight springing to the forefront as his fingers brushed through my fur, a smile curling on his lips.
"Felix?"
His eyes flared, locking onto mine and I felt stunned as if I saw them for the very first time. Shivered coursed through my body, an ecstatic happiness burning in my heart as I nuzzled closer. I didn't know what this sensation was but it was heady, overwhelming and possessive.
Mine.
Whatever this was, I didn't want it to stop.
There were a few chuckles in the room as I was nearly buried in Felix' lap, the boy happy to snuggle up to me so we formed a tight ball on the floor. The happiness was slowly changing though, as pain started to spark throughout my body.
---Felix' POV ---
My nose was buried in Milo's fur, inhaling his scent deeply when he suddenly froze and whimpered softly. At first I thought my hold on him might be uncomfortable or a bit tight but I stilled as well when I felt movement under my hands.
His bones were moving, startling snaps echoing through the room as I flinched each time, because Milo's pain was flooding heavily through my mind. Part of me wanted to push away the sensation, to hold my ears to block out the sounds and hum till it was over.
But I didn't want to let go of Milo, for whatever reason. And I let that be known clearly when one of the men approached and reached out. I smacked his hand away with a sharp snarl, baring my teeth as I curled over Milo.
My eyes were glaring up at the man, who I somehow knew as Sebastian and glared at his cheekbones, unwilling to make eye contact. Even with this hurricane of emotions and sensations going on, the quick snap that echoed through the room and made both Milo and I tremble violently, I didn't wanna look anyone in the eye.
"Felix, let us carry Milo to a bed at least. He'll feel a bit better with the comfort and you won't have to leave him at any time." Marcus murmured softly, slowly crouching down beside me though he made no move to reach out.
"Zayne has been through the same; it's called the change. Milo is taking back his human form and it is rather painful but...I believe, if you stay close to him, he'll feel much better."
Milo whined in agreement, nuzzling against my stomach as Marcus slowly reached out. I stood when he lifted my pup up, glancing down at me with a slight smile when he realized my fingers were still tangled in Milo's soft scruff, and they weren't going to move either.
It was awkward as I had to nearly walk on the tips of my toes and felt my arm brush against Marcus but Milo needed me.
I didn't even look where we were going, instead blindly followed Marcus as I never took my eyes of Milo. Soon enough he settled Milo down on a bed and I only paused to untie my shoes and nudged them off with my toes before climbing on the bed too.
Milo instantly whined, wriggling closer until I was on my side, Milo pressing against my stomach as he curled up and whimpered. I curled over him, resting my head on his hip just like he was doing to me.
A giggle slipped past my lips as Milo looked at me, his warm tongue lapping at my cheek for a moment before he whined. I let my fingers brush soothingly through his fur, calming him down.
Somewhere in the back of my mind, I was afraid. Milo was changing to a human and I was afraid I was going to fear and dislike his touch the same as everyone else. But somehow, I just knew that wasn't true.
He's Milo. My pup.
And he meant absolutely everything to me.
