You smiled at your husband as you ran to him. After months and months of war, you'd finally won. You threw your arms around Stannis, not caring that both of you were covered in blood. While most women didn't fight, you weren't about to let Stannis fight this war alone. So, you'd joined him much to his dismay. Now, he was glad you had. Your skills had saved his life in battle more than once and now, he stood victorious.

"We've done it, my love," Stannis whispered to you, gently unwrapping your arms from around him. He wasn't one for public affection. You rolled your eyes and smiled at him again. "Yes we have. Now there is no one to stand in the way of your claim to the Iron Throne," you told him, wiping the blood from your face as the two of you remounted your horses and rode away from the field saturated in blood. The next day, you would ride for King's Landing where Stannis would take the throne that was rightfully his.

One thing about Stannis that no one really knew was that he wasn't as confident as he let on. You only saw it when you were alone. "Do you think me a good king, Y/N?" he asked you as you rode into the city of King's Landing a few days after the final battle. Your brows furrowed until you looked over and saw the uncertainty in his features. "Stannis, you are a wonderful king and you will continue to be one as long as you remember that your duty is to the realm. To your people," you stated matter-of-factly. Stannis gave you a rare smile and thanked you. "And you shall be as fair a queen as the Seven Kingdoms has ever had."

The two of you rode in silence the rest of the way into the Red Keep. You could almost feel your husband's nerves, but you kept a smile on your face to encourage him. You knew Stannis could be a good a king if he tried and, he couldn't possibly be any worse than his brother or his nephew. When you finally arrived at the Keep, you dismounted your horse and allowed Stannis to take your hand. The first order of business took place in the throne room, where Stannis would be crowned.

You stood quietly to the side, as was your duty, when Stannis approached the Iron Throne. You could see a bit of relief in Stannis' gaze. His ambitions were being realized at last and you couldn't be happier for him. You knew once the crown was on his head, Stannis would feel the pressures of being king, but for now, there was joy. Stannis turned around and waited for the septon.

"All hail His Grace, Stannis of House Baratheon, First of his name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. Long live the King!" The crowd in the Keep repeated the last phrase and you couldn't fight the smile on your face. Stannis slowly sat down on the throne as the people cheered. Some were unhappy, but hopefully, Stannis would prove himself to be the great king the Realm deserved.

Stannisturned his head and gave you a little nod. There would be no ceremony for you,but you didn't care. As the queen, you believed your job was to support yourhusband, help him when necessary, but mostly to help the people he ruled over.Stannis appreciated that about you and you knew it. He took your advice toheart. He knew that, even if he was no good as king, the Realm would have thegreatest queen it ever had.
