Chapter 3
~Faith~
It was day three since the phone call with Jace and Will. Faith was currently preparing the B772 plane that would fly her, Michael, Kevin, and another hundred members of her pack to Jace's territory. Jace's pack resided on the California/Nevada border, a little ways away from Lake Tahoe. So it would only be around a three or four hour flight.
"Alright, everyone's all packed and ready to go!" Kevin said as he walked into her office. Faith nodded, holding a finger in the air as she was still on the phone with their private airport. Finishing the details, she said thank you, and told them they'd be there within the next hour.
"Okay, let me just-" Faith was cut short as Michael interjected, popping up behind Kevin.
"I took the liberty of taking your stuff and putting it with the other's. Everyone's out front and ready, Faith," Michael added a smile at the end, knowing how much his Alpha hated when people touched her things without permission. She simply rolled her eyes and walked passed them and to her eagerly waiting pack members at the front of their giant pack house. Faith saw they were already in their wolf forms as she opened the front door, Kevin and Michael trailing behind her.
"Alright, everyone!" Faith began as she silently took a count in her head, making sure everyone was, indeed, there. "Today we'll be going to my old pack! We'll be training them, just as Alpha Shade trained us!" She yelled into the crowd, everyone's tails wagging at the mention of training. They all looked forward to meeting everyone at Faith's former pack. She and Michael had given them a run down in the meeting a few days before to inform them that they would be going with them to her old pack.
"Everyone ready?!" Faith yelled into the crowd, gaining howls from each and every one of them in return. She smiled and stepped back into the house, stripped, and emerged as her white and gold colored wolf. Kevin gave her a smile and bowed comically to his Alpha, then walked with Michael to the trucks holding all of their training equipment and spare clothes. They would have to stay in their human form and haul everything to the airport as Faith and the rest of them met them there.
Howling, Faith started running towards the airport, with the rest following close behind.
'I can't wait to see our mate again!' Faith's wolf exclaimed excitedly.
Rolling her eyes, Faith replied, 'The only reason we're going back to our old pack is to make sure they all don't die from the hunter attack. Not to see our mate.' Faith's wolf wimpered at the thought of their mate dying.
'Don't think like that!'
'It's not like it'll happen, anyway. We'll be there to make sure it doesn't.' Faith tried to calm her wolf down before she started to become angry at her. She did not want to deal with an angry wolf while she was stuck on a three hour flight with no way out. It seemed to work because for the rest of the run, her wolf stayed quiet.
~Jace~
Jace awoke to Will ripping the covers off of his sleeping form and the curtains being drawn open.
"Really, man? Faith is coming today and you're still sleeping?" All he got in return was a mumble and Jace flipping over, burying his head into his fluffy pillows. "It's already one in the afternoon!" Will slapped the back of his Alpha's head, earning a grunt of discomfort. "Oh, and you have a hangover too. Great."
"I couldn't get to sleep..." Jace trailed off, turning over and stretching, covering his eyes with one hand. "Put the curtains back down..."
Will rolled his eyes and went into the bathroom connected to Jace's room, bringing back a cup of cold water and throwing it on the man who was still in bed. This caused Jace to spring up and yell a string of curses at the retreating Beta.
