Chapter 15: one week later

Dixie's P.O.V.

With four kids running around, my life is hectic. they can't ever decide to do the same thing, it's three different things at once. my sisters help, taking the two oldest and putting in some auntie time.
Not that I minded. I slept when the twins slept, and was awake when they were, which was most of the time.
Stupid active werewolf genes.
I'm glad I had Damon to help me, and my sisters. I would honestly probably lose it. life may be hectic, but that's just life.
We had no rogue problems, bobby was gone, his girlfriend taken care of while I had been in labor. it was almost peaceful.
I was brought out of my thoughts by a loud cry, soon followed by another. I sighed. the twins were awake again. This was the third time in two hours, and I was exhausted. Damon hadn't been home last night to help me with all four of them. a young girl had been found trespassing and they hadn't wanted to throw her in the dungeon. Damon said she was only about 10 years old.
I heard the front door open while I was upstairs changing the twins diapers.
"Baby? I have a surprise for you."
"Upstairs, twins room." I tiredly reply. I had been up to long. the girls had gotten the kids early this morning. I had been awake since 3 with my newest babies.
I heard footsteps come up the stairs. soon Damon came in with a small girl trailing behind him. she looked terrified, an she was so small. my natural motherly instincts kicked in and I handed The babies to Damon and squatted down in front of her.
She wouldn't look up from the floor.
"We can't get her to talk, she's to scared to."
I looked at her.
"Do you want some candy?" I asked simply.
"Or maybe some cheese cake? or homemade pizza? you could help me make it."
She looked up at me and shock was clear in her eyes. she nodded her head wwwweakly.
"Do you want to hold my hand? or do you want a piggy back ride?"
She looked at excited on the latter so I got down even lower.
She carefully got on my back, and I stood up slowly. I carried her down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Pizza?" I asked and she nodded again.


About an hour later we were both covered in flour and I had gotten a Small smile out of the little girl.
"It's finally finished! Here you have the first slice." I smiled at her and she smiled back at me.
"So do you want to tell me your name?" I asked when she took a bite. she chewed slowly then swallowed.
"Marina." she quietly whispered.
"What a beautiful name! Where are your parents honey?"
"A rogue attack killed them, my daddy was the alpha and I was next in line but my whole packs gone and all i did was hide! I'm not fit for the alpha position!"
By now she was sobbing. I picked her up,she weighed practically nothing, and took her to the guest bedroom. I laid her down In my lap and stroked her hair.
"Marina, did your mom tell you too?"
"Y-yes!"
"Then you were Doing what you were told to do. that doesn't mean your to weak to be an alpha. what's your packs. Name?"
"Blood shed pack."
I knew the one. I had heard what happened but I didn't know they had a daughter. as if she could read my mind, marina spoke.
"They kept me hidden cause I how many enemies we hav- had."
Now I understood.
"Marina, baby do you want me to adopt you? you can live here, and I can take care of you. Damon and I both can. would you like that?" I asked her, I was basically cooing to her now.
She looked up at me, her big blue eyes full of shock and hope.
"Your not going to kill me?"
"No, in fact, we can fix this room up just for you. would you like that?"
She shook her head very fast.
"Yes please."
I smiled down at her.
"Well let's go see damon. Damon's my mate so you don't have to be afraid of him. I know a little boy who's always wanted a big sister. he's my oldest, and he's been trying to find a way out of getting the alpha title." I said laughing.
I called my sisters and asked them to bring my babies home and to come meet my daughter.
They were here in less then 5 minutes.
"Don't be afraid of my sisters, they're just a tad bit weird okay?"
"We heard that! now where's our new neice? I wanna begin the spoiling!"
Daisy and daiz' said at the same time. I heard them burst out laughing.
They came In and began to tell marina how beautiful she is, how she's so adorable and how they can wait to take her shopping.
I left them to it and stood next to Damon and took my youngest out of his hands. my two oldest were asleep on the couch. I gently rocked her to sleep.
"You make a great luna, and a wonderful mom. But you know what the best part is?" Damon asked me quietly.
"What?" I asked smiling.
"Your a beautiful and perfect mate." he said leaning down to kiss me.
I smiled, this was my not so little famiy, and I'm happy to keep it this way.
I would continue to mother my children, marina included, and be luna until it was time to step down. I would stay by Damon's side forever. I honestly think our mate bond was stronger then my true mate bond. which was fine by me. I was happy with my family, and I couldn't wait to watch them all grow up.
We would have a ceremony to accept marina into our pack and as our daughter. she would grow up, find her mate, and leave to join his pack.
I leaned into Damon, contempt with my life.
Bobby was gone, Brantley found his mate, and I had damon.
Damon has been my light through all of this, and I am so glad for that. I smiled up at him as he kissed my four head, and for the first time in a long, I felt completely safe.
