Chapter 1: “I’d Lie.”
I was running through the park, along with my best friend Jayden … or, more like, I was chasing after him very slowly in a playful manner.
“Jay! Get your skinny ass back here right now! You know damned well that I can’t run that fast!”
“Yeah, unless you’re running from clowns … then you run so damned fast that it’s practically impossible to catch up with you!” He shouted back, purposely trying to piss me off. But, as usual, he ended up failing.
“Ha-ha! Now that’s where you’re wrong! I wouldn’t run from a clown, I’d stand there waiting for him with a baseball bat in my hands, ready to beat the living shit out of the damned freak, literally!”
“Of course YOU would take what I just said, and turn it into something so sick and twisted, both at the same time!”
“Yeah, well, that’s why you love me, for my sick and twisted sense of humor!” I shouted back, laughing obnoxiously.
Just then, he stopped running, and turned to look at me… although I saw this, my body didn’t react quickly enough, and I ended up tackling him to the ground. I was now on top of him, and my face was redder than a cherry red tomato in the middle of summer. He looked at me and smiled as he rolled over, so he was on top of me now.
“No, Sarah… that’s not the reason why I love you… it’s much, much more than that…” He said as he began to lean down to kiss me. The closer he got to my face, the redder my face got, and the higher my heart rate became. Our lips were just mere inches from touching each other...
And then, the one thing I feared the most happened … my Grandmother, aka, Nana woke me up!
“Oh, come on! And it was when he was just about to kiss me too!” I shouted.
“Sarah, I’m making breakfast, you need to get up.”
“Just come back and wake me up when the food is ready…” I said, pulling the covers back over my head.
“Sarah, no, you get up now and get ready to go!”
“Nana, it doesn’t take me long to get ready, so I’ll get ready in a little bit …”
“No, we have to be out of here by 7:15, and it’s 6:45 now. So, no, you won’t wait, you’ll get up, and go get ready now!”
After a few minutes of petty arguing, I ended up getting my way, like always.
“Grrr! It seems like every time I get to a good part in my dream, my nana wakes me up ...” I said, as I was grabbing my uniform out of my closet.
After I got dressed, I walked into the kitchen, and sat down at our counter top, and began eating my breakfast.
“There, you see Sarah? It’s already after seven now. You’re going to be late again.” My Nana said from the living room.
“Leave me alone. No one said I had to be there at 7:15 on the dot. Nobody’s gonna care if I’m a little late.” I said, as I continued to eat.
My nana just sighed, obviously seeing no reason to start up another pointless argument just yet.
I walked into the bathroom after eating breakfast, and after I put on some makeup, I looked at myself in the mirror.
