Today was my first time going to another kingdom to make sure the preparation for the peace treaty were going as planned. Yesterday I was of age to be crowned, crowned princess of Aldonia. I wasn't always a princess I was adopted by my uncle when I was 14 after my mother died. It was hard adjusting to the new life style but my uncle helped and now he entrusted me with the task of making sure that the preparation for the peace treaty in Camelot were as planned. I got on my horse and the nights follow me as we left the castle walls and headed for Camelot. The journey took a day in a half. When we arrived we were met by the knights of Camelot and King Arthur himself. I was helped down off my horse by one of the most polite knights I had ever met.
"Princess Scarlett what a pleasure it is to have you in Camelot" Arthur said kissing my hand and bowing
"It is a pleasure to be here" I responded bowing in return
We walked in and as I did I looked back at the knights they were all talking and laughing except one the one that helped me down. He seemed so familiar to me but I did not know why. I ignored it and walked into the castle behind Arthur. We discussed the preparations and by then it was nearly sundown. Arthur held a feast in the honor of the peace treaty. Everyone was there all the knights and the men of the council. Everyone was having a good time and me I sat at the end of the table looking across at everybody.
"Is every thing alright my lady" Arthur asked
"Yes everything is fine my lord, why do you ask"
"It just you haven't eaten any of your food or said a single word"
"I am thinking" I responded to him "I think I should be turning for the night." I got up and walked out of the hall. As I walked down the passage ways I heard footsteps behind me. I ducked behind a pillar a pulled out the sword that I always kept by my side. As the footsteps grew closer and closer I gripped my sword tighter. When they were just about on top of me I turned the corner with my sword nearly touching the face of the person who was following me.
"My lady I did not mean to scare you" the man said
"Your one of Arthur's knights" I said lowering my sword.
"Yes my lady my name is Sir Percival"
"Percival, it is you it has been a long time" I said with excitement. He looked at me and realized who I was.
"Scarlet that is you how are you royalty" he asked in astonishment
I didn't answer him right away for I heard footsteps coming down the passage way. I grabbed his hand and pulled him to my chambers for if we were caught talking to each other he could be tried for treason and so could I. As we got closer to my chambers the foots steps behind us grew louder and louder. We made it to my chambers and we both went into the room. And wait for the footsteps to pass when they did I answered his question. "I was taken in by my uncle when my mother died"
I am sorry for your loss I know you were very close to your mother " he said sincerely
I was about to say something when there came a knock at my door. I quickly pushed Percival behind my changing stall out of sight. Then I went to open the door and on the other side was Arthur. "My lord what can I do for you"
"Princess I was informed that the plans to show you the rest of the preparations will have to be delayed, I am going on a hunt with my knight at first light. I can have Merlin schedule you a tour around the kingdom." He said entering the room.
I placed my self between him and Percival's hiding spot "Arthur don't bother I love a good hunt if you don't mind me joining you and your knights"
"No that is perfectly fine I will see you at first light" he said leaving the room.
As soon as he was out I shut the door. And went to see Percival and tell him he could come out.
"You can fit back there" he said coming out of his hiding place
"I am half your size so yeah I can fit back there but I hope you don't mind that am going on the hunt with you and the other guys."
"I don't mind at all it will be just like when we were kids, we just can't really say anything to each other"
"I know now you better go." He opened the door looked out to make sure that was clear for him to sneak out. When he was gone I shut the door then went over to my bed and flopped down on to it. A few minutes later I got up got dressed in my night gown and went bed. That's when my dreams took hold.
There was a fire battle field with soldiers piled up dead on the ground some in red others in black. I walked through the field looking at all the dead men that died. Then the dream quickly flipped through other images to fast for me to make out what was going on but the last thing that saw was a black knight jab his sword into the back of a knight that looked to be a part of King Arthur's knight but I could not see his face.
I woke up frantically trying to catch my breath. I looked around it was just a dream I thought to my self. I was still in the room and I was still in my bed. When I was back to breathing normal. I laid back down and fell asleep.
