Forests for miles. Snow lightly falling on your hair. Deer fluttering around. You'd think an eight year old girl would be having the time of their life out here.

Letting their imagination run wild. But no... Not me. Not when there's a bad man chasing you. "Come here, little girl! I won't hurt you!"

He said in a friendly tone. But even at eight years old, I knew he was faking it! My little legs felt like they were gonna fall off.

It was so cold outside. My eyes were watered up and my long red hair had little icicles on them. I fell over into the snow and crawled under a log.

I laid down with my hands over my head, much like we had to do in school during a tornado drill. I heard the bad man's footsteps come near.

"Ohhh! Little girl! I've found you!" He says. I look up and scoot back. He reaches down to grab me. I close my eyes and cover my ears.

But I never feel him grab me. When I open my eyes I see another man biting the bad man's neck! I sat there with my mouth opened wide in surprise.

This man wore all black clothes and had messy black hair. Within seconds, he drops the bad man. I stand up and walk right up next to the new man.

I stood by his left side. I look at the bad man and see red all over his neck. I then look at the other man. He had the same red around his mouth.

"The bad man! He had red coming out of him! Like a fruit snack!" I said to him. He looks down at me. I giggle which causes him to smile.

"That bad fruit snack man scared me! Thank you for eating him! I think he was trying to eat me! But that makes no sense!

I'm supposed to eat fruit snacks! They're not suppose to eat us, mister!" I said, hugging his legs. He laughed lightly.

"Yeah. Fruit snacks shouldn't eat people." He said. "You're good! I can tell! You helped me! What's your name, mister?"

I asked, not letting go of his legs. He scratched the back of his head and looked upset. But he smiled again. "I don't have a name, little girl!"

He says. My mouth hung open in shock. Anyone at my age would believe his words. But anyone who was older would have been able to easily see he was lying.

"That's so sad! How could you not have a name? Didn't your mommy and daddy give you a name?" I asked, tilting my head. He shrugged.

"That's so sad! I'll name you!" I said. He looked and me in curiosity. "Bitey! Your name is Bitey! Because you bit the fruit snack man!"

I say loudly. Bitey kneels down so that he is at my height. "Bitey? Really?" He asked with a small smile and his eyebrow raised.

I giggled at him. "Yeah! Bitey!" I said, poking his nose. Bitey laughed. "Bitey, huh?" He asked, putting his hands on my sides and lifting me up.

"Well I do love to bite things! Rrrraaahhh!" He says and pretends to bite me. I laugh at this. "Stop it! That tickles!" I laughed.

Bitey pulled back and smiled at me. "So, do you have a name? Or do I have to name you myself? Maybe I'll call you fruit snack because your hair is the same color as one!"

He said. I put my hands over my head. "Noooo! I'm not a fruit snack, silly! And my name is Harley! Like from Batman! Only I'm not a bad guy!"

I say, giggling. He started to walk with me out of the forest. I played with his hair. It was pretty nice hair. "So, Harley. What are you doing out here all by yourself?"

Bitey asked. He didn't seem to mind that I was playing with his hair. "I got lost. I wondered off from my house and that's when that mean fruit snack started chasing me!"

I say in a pout. Bitey laughed again. "Well don't worry, Harls. I'll take you back home!" He chirped. "Yay!" I clapped. "You should probably sleep.

I'd imagine it's passed your bedtime." He said. I crossed my arms and pouted. He smiled at me with a raised eyebrow. He began to sway slowly.

With each sway I felt more and more tired. I rested my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes. Bitey began walking again.

"Goodnight, Harls." He says. I feel him unzip his hoodie and tuck me inside of it. It was so warm! If felt like a blanket.

"Goodnight, Bitey!" I yawn. I fall asleep while being carried by my new friend. Sadly, I never saw him again after that...
