Lumingon ako sa likod ko pero mabilis din akong umiwas ng tingin.

"Can you stop following me?" Mataray kong wika sa lalaking nasa likuran ko.

After I learned his name, tinalikuran ko na siya dahil wala na akong balak na pahabain pa ang pag-uusap namin but here he is, making me feel irritated by following me.

Paanong hindi ako maiinis? There are hundreds of reasons to dislike him!

One, everytime I snapped at him, wala lang sakanya. Hindi man siya nagagalit o naiinis sa akin. He is full of positivity which angers me more! I don't even want to elaborate more of my reasons.

"You own this place. If there is one person I should follow to get out of here.. it will be you, Montgomery." He said with a matter of fact.

I rolled my eyes.

Why do I feel that every word that comes out on his mouth is sarcasm?

"Just go. Kung hindi mo pala alam ang palabas dito, bakit ka pa pumasok? You shouldn't enter something you're not sure of, Mr. Cabello."

I looked to the left then looked to the right. Sandali akong mariin na pumikit dahil gusto kong sakalin ang sarili ko. Hindi ko makita ang labasan at hindi nakakatulong na nasa likuran ko ang kagaya niya!

I feel so competitive! Gusto kong makita ang labasan para ako mismo ang sumipa sakanya palabas ng lugar na 'to!

"You're wrong. I think, people should take risks." Aniya.

Nagmulat ako ng mata at napalingon sakanya. I faced him and raised an eyebrow.

"What are you even trying to prove? Sige nga. Yes, you took a risk by entering this maze which you're not very familiar with. Oh tapos? Anong napala mo? Maliban sa hindi mo alam paano makalabas?"

One. Two. Three.

Breathe in, breathe out, Al.

Tatanda ka ng maaga pag nagpadaig ka sa lalaking nasa harapan mo. Stress na stress ka ng kausap siya habang wala man lang bakas ng pagkairita sakanya. It's like, fighting with someone who doesn't even want to fight.

Ewan ko ba, nagiinit talaga ang dugo ko sakanya.

He slightly tilted his head and chuckled. Nagtiim bagang ako dahil sa reaksyon niya. Humalukipkip ako habang pinasadahan niya naman ang kanyang buhok gamit ang kanyang kamay.

I know what he's trying to do.

Trying to show off! Trying to look cool!

Oh please, he needs to try harder!

"I'm talking to you." Aniya.

Kumunot ang aking noo.

"What?"

"Yun ang napala ko. I met you. I got to talk to you." Walang preno niyang sagot.

So fast. So direct to the point. I totally didn't even expected that. Akala ko ay bibigyan niya ako ng mga words of wisdom about taking risks pero wala, he answered with something I didn't even know how to comprehend.

Napaayos ako ng tayo at nawala ang paghalukipkip ko. My brain is working so hard to understand what he just said.

Tama naman kasi siya, may napala naman siya pero..

Al, can't assume. No. Don't do it.

Tumikhim ako. "Ano ba kasing ginagawa mo dito? You shouldn't even be here."
