Everyone had gathered at the entrance of the Enchanted Wods the following night. The moon shined on the very spot of the battle field and I was more ready than ever.
I stood in the center of the semi circle, leaning on my sword.
Blondie Lockes was broadcasting the duel live with mirrorpad, narrating every second. "Jamie Hook now waits patiently for her opponent, who has yet to show up." She informed her one million viewers.
I was starting to get nervous. Had he really backed out? Was this whole thing just to get me psyched out so he could jump in and take the win? However, just at that moment two figures emerged from the woods; Patrick Pan and a girl trailing behind him/
Her short brown hair was pulled into a bun and a light blue mini dress framed her perfect figure. I recognized her as Cindy Darling, daughter of Wendy Darling; another nemesis of mine. I'd never met her in person before but I'd seen pictures.
Patrick and Cindy weren't dating but they were friends; kind of like Apple White and Daring Charming. Cindy had a smirk on her face as she took her place in the crowd next to Ashlynn Ella and Holly O' Hair.
I steadied my sword and Patrick took out his sword as well.
"Jamie Hook versus Patrick Pan," Blondie Lockes said to her Mirror Pad. "Who will win this epic battle?"
I struck first with my father's famous battle cry and Patrick met my sword with his. We started clashing and to my satisfaction, Patrick was being pushed further into the woods. Everyone followed our duel with excited glee.
I blocked every hit he gave me because everyone knows pirates are the best swordsmen.
However, Patrick began to duck my strikes, making me lose my grip and fall backwards. Before I could even get up, Patrick pinned me there and I found myself staring right at him.
My anger was replaced with wonder as I looked into those gleaming hazel eyes - but then I snapped out of it. I pushed him off and with a swift move, put my sword against his neck.
"And Jamie Hook wins!" Blondie Lockes announced, jumping up and down along with the crowd.
"Ha!" I exclaimed, not letting him up. "Now try to mess with me again and see what happens!"
Patrick pushed me off, getting to his feet. "I'll get you, Jamie Hook, so you better enjoy this while you can!"
"Awww," I gushed. "Are you going to cry to your Lost Boys?"
Patrick gave me a glare and retreated towards the school. The crowd engulfed me, lifting me up and cheering my name. My cheeks flushed and I smiled harder than I ever had in my life. Everyone was chanting my name and it felt great.
I spotted Cindy Darling a few feet away, giving me a glare.
When everyone let me down, Kitty Chesire gave me a hug. "You were great out there." She said slyly.
"Well I think her performance was utterly disgraceful."
Everyone turned to Cindy's tiny, girly voice. She moved dance - like towards us, a haughty look on her face. "You call that a fight?"
"Its not like you can," I said. "You're just a city kid who gets picked up by a century year old teenager who can never grow up."
Cindy was in my face then, so close that I could smell her perfume;Vanilla Soap and Pixie Dust. Speaking of Pixie Dust, LillyBell and TillyBell - Tinker Bell's daughters - fluttered by my side, tiny in form.
"Leave her alone." Lilly - I assumed from her pink light - snapped.
"Yeah, don'y you have anything better to do?" Tilly said, backing up her sister.
Cindy looked at the two pixies, actually seeming scared. She rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Just watch your back because you might get a hook early."
With that, Cindy followed Patrick back to the school.
Just seconds later, everyone was screaming and running because Patrick had told the school Ogre guards about "party" after hours.
