Dave tried to mask the surprise when he saw Raven and Liam walking back to the group with their arms around each other, but he was almost too shocked. Raven and Liam both looked hurt, but nowhere near as bad as earlier and he knew too well that she was capable of walking by herself. They sat beside each other around the fire Sea Turtle had made and Raven removed her arm from around Liam, however his remained around her shoulder.
"So how are you guys doing?" Sea Turtle asked them as she prepared a stew over the fire with some extra ingredients they had and some wild herbs she had found, Dave couldn't cease to be amazed with the many talents she seemed to have.
"Doing all right" Raven said. "I removed the bullets from my body and sewed up Liam's arm." Dave was about to ask about the medicine, but Raven was ahead of him, "Yes we took the medicine Dave. Each of us puked sufficiently." Dave laughed a bit, the medicine was awful stuff, but worked wonders.
"I'll make sure we get some more next time we stop at the black market, I think we'll be facing a lot more Slayers." Dave told her and she nodded in agreement.
"How're you doing?" Liam asked him, "Do you have a concussion?"
Dave shook his head, "No, luckily, just a really big knot on the back of my head. Sea Turtle here makes a good nurse." he smiled at the girl.
"Really it was no big deal man. I would've been all lost if you didn't tell me what to do" she beamed brightly, cheeks coloring.
Raven nodded, "That's good to hear. You've proven yourself more than enough Sea Turtle. We're lucky to have you."
"Awww shucks you guys, you're getting me all embarrassed." she giggled and her cheeks turned redder. The others laughed and Sea Turtle began serving the stew she had made. Everyone began to eat, remembering just how hungry they all were.
"Wow Sea Turtle," Liam said in between bites. "This is amazing!"
"Yeah," Raven agreed, "Where did you learn to cook like this?"
"Well um I'm not entirely sure. That's what I wanted to talk to you guys about."
"You wanted to talk to us about your ability to cook well?" Liam asked in confusion.
"What? No. I mean yes, but that's only part of it, but it's not the main part it just I-" she stopped talking and took a deep breathe. "I'll start from the beginning."
"That's always a good place to start." Raven said.
Sea Turtle took another deep breathe and closed her eyes. She exhaled and opened them again, the blue in her eyes was missing that brightness it had when they first met. Instead of looking like the ocean on a bright sunny day, the blue looked darker like sea before a storm. Her eyes alone were enough to change the atmosphere into a serious one.
"Well as you already know, I'm half dragon and Dave told you guys that my other half is not human, which is true." She reached both her hands up and tucked her blonde curls behind her ears. Her ears were pointed on the ends, looking like those of an elf. "My other half, is siren."
Raven stiffened and Liam's jaw dropped. Dave had already heard the information so there was no surprise.
"Half siren, shit! How are we not dead?" Liam asked her.
"I'm not interested in killing anybody. I'm only half siren, I have minor control of the water, siren features, and-"
"Magical influence over your words." Raven finished for her and Sea Turtle nodded. "Which is how you were able to convince me to let you take your surf board, among other things." She mumbled, cheeks flushing at the memory of how flustered she was around the girl earlier.
