Every romance story has one. Usually not a very good one. That's right, the inner controversy. I find there are 4 types of inner dilemmas in this little genre of ours:::::::
(1) "OMG, am I crushing on him?"
Generally accompanied with a best friend who constantly teases. This dilemma will drag on for most of the book so lets cut to the chase:
-If the character is asking herself this BEFORE cute boy asks her out the answer is most likely yes.
-If the character is asking herself this AFTER said cute boy asks her out the answer is almost always no.(2) "Does he like me?"
The answer is probably. This is a romance novel. However, this question is completely irrelevant unless you know the answer to question #1.(3) "What's going to happen when we leave for college."
First off, if you don't think you can handle a relationship in college, then you have no business having one in high school.
Secondly, WELCOME TO THE 21ST CENTURY. We have these amazing thing called vehicles that can take you almost anywhere you need to go. And if it can't take you, why don't you try a telephone? It even enables you to HEAR the other person's VOICE!! If you use this product of sorcery called Skype you can SEE them in real time!!(4) Is he CHEATING on me.
Probably. But he's going to make it sound like it's not his fault so you'll forgive him so we can have a sequel in which you question if you actually love him so we can start this process all over again. And there we go!! Four dilemma's every female romance protagonist faces. Everybody can go home now.
