"Are you sure you're going to be okay?" Russell asked, sipping his coffee. Stevie nodded, as she dug into her Cinnamon Toast Crunch. She kept shovelling the cereal into her mouth, then reached for the box and poured more in. "Jesus woman, how many bowls..." "There's still milk left!" She protested, tilting the bowl to show him. Russell felt a huge smile creep across his face. She was adorable. "And besides they're my favourite." She said. Russell laughed, "Pea, for the millionth time, everything is your favourite." He stood up, still laughing and walked over to kiss her forehead. "You're so fucking cute, I can't even stand it." He grabbed the box to pour himself a bowl, trying to catch up to her. It was Stevie's first day going back to work. He was worried, he didn't want her to push herself too hard, but he also knew it wasn't worth fighting. She liked to feel productive, and he knew that her boss was making sure that she didn't have too much on her plate right away.
"Are you sure you're going to be okay, this girl is walking to work all by herself." Stevie joked, pointing her thumbs at herself, teasing Russell's worrisome nature. She saw him roll his eyes at her. She reached over to hug him from behind as he sat eating his cereal. She kissed his cheek. "I'm going to be fine Russie." She whispered. He nodded, "I know... and I get that I can't be driving you everywhere. I do." He sighed. The two had discussed trying to keep their relationship quiet around the executives and the people that Stevie worked with. The last thing she needed was having everyone whispering about their boss sleeping with players...even though she hadn't slept with him - or anyone for that matter since she moved there. But people talk. People gossip, especially about women in the workplace. Russell knew how hard she worked, how good she was at her job, and he didn't want anyone doubting why she was there. That meant, he couldn't be dropping her off, picking her up and checking in on her all the time...even though he wanted to.
Stevie went to get ready and walked back out in high waisted dress pants with a slim belt, her silk blouse dressed up with pearls. "Dayuuuumm." Russell leaned back as she entered the kitchen, he rubbed his hands together as he watched her travel around the condo. Stevie smiled, and gave in. She walked over to him, wrapping her arms around him. She pushed the top two buttons of her top open and let him have a peak close up. She giggled as he kissed at her chest. She lifted his chin and kissed him. "Okay, enough fun, I need to get going." She chuckled. Russell made a pouting face with his lips, staring up at her with puppy dog eyes.
Stevie giggled, grabbing his hand to entice him up from his chair, planting her lips on his. "I'll see you tonight .... at Allie's going away thing?" She asked. He nodded. "I'll be there." She grabbed her portfolios and her carrying bags as she opened the door. "Pea...." Russell said as he stood watching her. "Um... I.... just, be careful okay." He sighed. Stevie's heart melted. As much as she teased Russell for being so protective, the truth was, she liked it.... a lot. She walked towards him with her bags in her hands and kissed him one last time. "I will, I promise." She rubbed her nose against his. "Good luck today." Russell said, smacking her on the butt as she turned to leave. Stevie giggled. "I'll get you back for that later." And with that, she was out the door.
