There wasn't much of a happier moment that year than game 3 of the ALDS .... Atleast that's what Stevie thought. How could there have been a better day than that? Her friend had returned from London just before the start of that series. The two girls watched the games together, holding hands through the stressful moments, cheering euphorically as both of their men were involved in the game winning play. Russell getting the base hit that drove in Josh, with his infamous slide. The celebrations afterwards... it was a day that Stevie would never forget. And now, that the season had ended and some time had passed, she could look back on those moments so fondly, not feeling as upset as she had in the moment, that the Jays weren't able to make it further, unable to finally get World Series rings on their fingers.

It had been so hard to watch Russell after the end of the ALCS. He had gotten so close to the big show so many times. She really ached for him and could feel how disappointed he was. He had been so banged up during the post-season - with nagging injuries that had caught up with him. He hadn't been able to play as well as he had expected from himself. As much as Stevie was sad to see the season end, she was grateful that it meant he had time to recoup. She had spent so many nights helping to nurse his swollen knees, massage the pulled muscles in his back. She had witnessed the bruises, the cuts on his fingers. He would finally have some time to rest and to heal properly.

Stevie grinned as the moments over the season were all flashing back before her. She was busy getting ready. The Blue Jays were throwing a formal event that evening for the players and in a change of pace, it was an event that she wasn't working. Instead, all that she needed to do was play the role of Russell Martin's date. As much as it should have been relaxing to know that she wasn't on the clock - it actually stressed her out more to know that she wasn't going to be like a bee buzzing around a hive all night, keeping busy with all of the normal elements of an event. She wasn't sure if she could settle into this role of Russell's arm candy. Stevie's phone vibrated on the table infront of her and she instantly chuckled when she saw the note from Allie,

'If I know you as well as I think I do, you're probably stressed out right now because you aren't working tonight. You'll be great, relax...oh and I'll be there - if it gets too stiff we'll just break into the tequila.'

Stevie shook her head, laughing. She was so happy to have Allie home.
