look at me
blonde-brown hair falling to my collarbones
eyes that look like the color of rust up close
lips that turn perpetually up at the corners
thighs that are just big enough to make me uncomfortable
i see the best in others
i see the worst in myself
look at how i bend over backwards for those i love and defend them with a lioness strength and character
look at how i melt into puddles of grief after looking at myself in the mirror
look at my tiny hands
and big heart locked in its cage and how it beats harder when it sees you and how i fall hopelessly, helplessly in love if shown kindness
look at how i never do my math homework
and always wear sneakers
and am somehow always called smart
look at how i'm a diamond in the rough who seems inferior standing next to coal
