Dear Diary,

I think some one is following me. Is onto me. I saw a guy watching me and taking pictures. I don’t know what’s happening. I can only assume someone knows about me…

“Oh no, Em,” I say aloud.

“What’s the matter?” Mom asks me, dropping her head to the side.

“Oh nothing, Mom, just reading a book about a girl named Em,” I smile and hope she buys it.

“Oh, alright,” Mom says with a concerned face, but then returns to cooking the dinner.

“I have a question Mom.”

“Okay. Shoot,” she says putting the stirring spoon down.

“Is it possible, like can it happen…,” I start to say, but get nervous.

“Its okay sweetie, is it about puberty?”

“No Mom! Gawd! Gross! Is it possible for someone to have powers?”

“Well, I don’t think so; I mean it could happen you know if someone where to get thrown into toxic waste. Piper are you sure it isn’t about puberty? Because you know it’s okay to ask.” She says to me.

“Yea Mom, I’m sure,” I say and walk out of the room – fast.

When I’m in my room I start to read more pages, everything is so secret, and that she never told anyone about anything. Why not? Lisa and I are - well, were - her best friends. Why not us? Didn’t she trust us? I need to call Lisa about this, but she won’t care, she would just read the entry later, when she had the diary. Nothing makes sense, everything is so weird and not possible, but I feel something – like – someone. I get up slowly and as I approach my window I grab one of my statues, off my dresser, to protect myself with. I take a deep breath and pull back the curtain. To my surprise, no one is there, but there is someone staring at my house. He’s wearing a black trench coat and a hat, as soon as he sees me I turn around and face my room, scared. I look back and just as I suspected, he’s no longer there.
