"Mom I am home and I drew you a picture." The girl had come home from school she threw her bag on the floor and ran to her mothers office. But right when she walked in she heard a shot. She saw blood and she saw the window had been opened and the blood was trailed outside. On her mom's desk was a necklace she quickly picked it up. It was a necklace her mom would always wear one she would never take off. It had an anchor.
She woke up again that night still thinking of her mother. Her black hair covering her half of her face. She got out of her bed and quickly went to the bathroom softly closing the door. She tried holding in her tears but it didn't last long. "Mani?" Her room mate called out. Maddy a tall girl had a wrist tattoo and long hair that was brown also she was a Spanish decent. "Mani hun did you have the dream again?" Maddy asked rubbing the girls back.
"It was different" Normani looked up and had a teared stained face. "She wasn't set on fire this time she was shot by I man who had no figure just a black shadow." Maddy pulled her close Normani had been having those dreams ever since she moved to Toronto.
"Mani how about you watch some Netflix until you fall back asleep it usually helps you sleep well".
"All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream."
- Edgar Allan Poe
Normani scrolled through Instagram and followed a couple of people and liked a few Beyonce photos within the hour of not wanting to watch Netflix. She read from her collection of books on wattpad and scrolled and reposted on tumblr. Tumblr was her go to app when she was feeling down or when she needed inspiration or motivation. It was what she would call the quiet side of social media. Where no one really knew who you where unless of course you had your name and picture as your bio.
One post had really spoke to her 'What was your biggest worry five years ago, do you still feel the same about it at this minute?' She quickly reposted and started typing.
"Five years ago I met this girl.."
