Dinah was confused. How could Normani just break up with her? She quickly called Maggie telling her she booked a flight to Canada. She quickly stuffed her bags as she headed out the door within the hour.
Dinah waited for her flight and stuffed herself with food and gulped down some coffee. She usually didn't drink coffee but today was an excuse. "Flight to Canada is now boarding" the announcer called out.
"Hey Mani" Dinah said as she climbed up the monkey bars to sit next to Normani. "Hey Dinah". "One day if you ever feel sad will you call me?" Mani asked as she looked towards the polynesian girl. "Of course and I would give you a hug and buy you cookies." "Pinky promise?" Normani held out her pinky. "Pinky promise" Dinah assured.
"Mani open up!" Dinah said as she knocked on the door. She had remembered that promise Normani had made and till this day she stuck to the promise. "Go away!" Normani yelled from the other side. "Remember that one time we sat on the moneky bars?" Dinah said as she waited for an answer. Dinah heard footsteps slowly heading to the door. One lock unlocked Dinah waited as Normani slowly opened the next. "You asked 'One day if you ever feel sad will you call me?' I called and I came with cookies and a hug"
Dinah watched as Normani opened the door she didn't pressure anything just stared at her with concerned eyes. Normani looked diffrent not by her appearance but by the way she carried herself. She was slightly shaking and looked scared.
Normani looked up and quickly gave her a hug and started sobbing. "Let it all out.""Im sorry just don't ever leave me". Dinah heard footsteps she quickly looked over Normani's head. Their where four girls walking towards them. "Ew get a room" the four girls said as they where about to walk past. Dinah looked down at Normani. "Step inside for a minute I need to care of something." Normani looked up and walked inside the dorm.
"Can I have a moment with you guys," the four girls turned around. "Were you guys the one who had been very homophobic to my girlfriend?" "Yeah why" One girl said who crossed her arms. "I just want you know something." Dinah waved them over to a seating area. "I've studied some much about Normani. She has no mother nor father. I've known her since forever and I wont lose her. I finally figured it out you may not see it but she is colorblind. Throughout my learning her favorite color is pink, because that's the only color she can see besides black and white."
"When she was with me in Cali she took pictures her picture are colored but her eyes see black and white. She also has been hurt quit a few times and she opened up to me like nothing had happened. She may have imperfections but being gay is okay. Leave her alone please."
The girl looked at her. "Where sorry and maybe we can be Normani's friends. I'm Camila" she held out her hand for her to shake.
Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend - or a meaningful day. -Dalai Lama
Dinah and Normani where heading to the store. "So when you meet your siblings can you give them my pink bears?" Dinah nodded as they pulled next to a Chinese restaurant. Dinah got out and walked to Normani's side. She reached for the door but it didn't open. Normani had looked out the window to see Dinah on the floor blood coming from her. "Dinah!" Normani opened the door and knelt down next to Dinah. "Please stay with me!" Normani took out her phone and quickly dialed 911.
