I slid down the banister, well aware of the fact that everyone else was still asleep, I was still hungry regardless. I was making my way to the kitchen, hoping that the cooks might have left something out after last night.I was relishing in the quiet and stillness of the early morning, and not quite ready to have to interact with another being. I whistled quietly to myself as I made my way around the corner, but my whistling drew to a slow stop as I noticed another bipedal creature rummaging around in the fridge. It looked up at me with a look of shock and fear, little bits of a cookie dribbling out of its mouth.
I squinted at it "Mitch?..." before I could get much further in my investigation something, or someone, tackled me from behind. "GAH!" I yelped as I fell to the ground under the weight of the thing above me, and my cry was smothered by a furry hand clamping over my mouth.
"Shhh!" hissed the thing above me, I could feel it shift above me "Quick Biggums! I'll hold him down." I heard a muffled reply and then someone quickly shuffling away. I heard the thing above me sigh "Ok, I'll get up if you promise not to scream or bolt." I nodded. It sighed again and slowly got up, I stayed on the ground. I lay there for a while pondering my existence, before I got up.
When I did, all evidence that anyone had been here before me was gone. I sighed and shook my head, smiling at the shenanigans that always seemed to get up to. I swept my hair over to one side as I walked over to the large table in the middle of the room, various pots and pans hung over it. I looked over it and frowned at it's emptiness. I glanced in the fridge and couldn't find anything. I sighed and thought to myself, I guess that I'm just going to have to wait for everyone else to wake up.
But I suddenly grinned as an idea surfaced in my mind, oh this is going to be good.
__________
"RISE AND SHINE!" I shouted cheerfully as I banged two pans together. A very groggy Ty stumbled out of his room, right into me.
"Ssttooopp..." He moaned, hanging onto me and preventing me from continue my loud barrage of sound.
"But Tyyyyyyyy!" I whined, slumping under his weight.
"Please!!!"
I frowned and dropped the pans with a loud clang that made Ty wince. "Fine" I grumbled crossing my arms before an idea occurred to me. I uncrossed my arms and turned to face a groggy Ty, a mischievous smile crawled across my face. "But your awake."
He stood still for a second before it dawned on him and his eyes grew larger, his sleepy brain taking longer to process the situation. "No you can't mean that your going to..." he trailed off, horror playing behind his green eyes.
I nodded the smile on my face growing wider at his terror. He began to slowly try to get away, his sleepiness forgotten. I ran behind him, he flipped arond before I sprayed him with a water gun that I liked to carry around with me for situations just like this one. He screamed like a little girl, witch undoubtedly woke everyone up that was in the castle at the time.
I laughed and wiped a tear from my eye. "Oh that never gets old." he glared at me with the full fury of a mad Ty. I shrugged and hid the squirt gun back where it belonged "What?" I grinned.
"Oh you know full well what."
"No I don't"
"Yes you do."
"No I don't"
"Yes you do."
"Nope"
"Yessir."
"Nopedidlynopenope!"
"Yes"
"No"
"Yes"
"No"
"Yes"
"Yes"
"No" I grinned at him before he realized his error, he let out an exasperated sigh "UHHH! Dang it Sky!" I chuckled.
"Hey!" A disheveled Seto was scowling at us from the stairs that lead down to the hallway, that ultimately lead to the library. Seto had clearly slept there last night, as evident from the line that had imprinted on his face the shape of the book he had slept on. "I was sleeping!"
"Well now your not."
Seto's expression somehow hardened, and he narrowed his eyes "Clearly."
Everyone else, exept Jerome and Mitch, then began to blearily shuffle out of their rooms. Jerome and Mitch, bounced out of Jerome's room with surprising energy.
"Hey!" I called cheerfully, despite the dream that was nagging at me from the back of the head, I was full of energy and I didn't feel like balling it up for very long. When I called they all blearily looked up at me "I know you are all pretty tired, but your up now and I'm not letting you go back to bed." I heard a couple cries of outrage. I whined "Hey wait a minute! I'm not done talking Yet!" They went quiet "I'm only doing this because you need to get used to getting up without a fore warning." good job Sky thinking on your feet.
"But the sun isn't even up yet!" Seto exclaimed gesturing to the window.
"It's the middle of the winter, the sun comes up later."
"But!"
"No. Now lets go get something to eat! I have something fun planned for this evening." The faces started to wake up and smile at the mention of food, non of them really worried about the other part of my announcement. Then suddenly they where all fully awake and realized the gravity of my statement.
"Food!" They all cheered as they raced down to the dining hall, exited to fill their bellies. I grinned, and after they had all dispersed from the hallway, I began making my way. But not before I heard something, like a whisper on the wind, or someone running by. I flipped around to look behind me, nothing but stone. Huh, weird, I turned back around and walked to the dinning hall. My senses on high alert and every one of my muscles tensed in anticipation.
I never could have predicted what I had heard, and why it felt like someone was watching me. Because somewhere there was someone watching my every more, waiting for just the right moment to strike.
