Chapter 4 - Journey to the Lab

Reina sat with Ryuuji. "The man who brought Osa-kun back told me about this lab. They want us, Ryuuji-kun, they want to test us like animals, and want us working for them!" she told him.

Ryuuji bit his lip. "Animals are working for him, so... they don't wanna hurt Nii-chan, do they?"

Kairu sat on a bed doing a brain test.

"His brain power is strong." Kenzaki reported.

Garshield nodded. "Indeed it is! Our subject will be with us in no time...!"

Every time Kairu did something wrong, a shock was sent into him.

"GAH!" Kairu screamed. "I wanna go home."

Garshield looked at him. "A few more tests, then you can."

Kairu carried on with the training. It was making him tired.

"Kenzaki-san, get the needle and stick it into him." Garshield told the man.

Kairu panted. "I wanna go! I'm not a rat of NIMH or something!"

Kenzaki stuck the needle into Kairu. "All better! Let's go. You can - back to your cage!" the man pulled Kairu's arm and threw him back into his cage.

"Reina-chan told me about this lab." Ryuuji told the rest.

"What kind?" asked Haruya.

"Are there any labs in Japan?!" Fuusuke looked confused.

Shirou climbed a tall tree and sniffed the air. "I picked a smell from the lab." Shirou smiled.

"Nice one!" Ryuuichirou smiled too.

Ryuuji thought for a moment. "You know what? I'll get my brother, you guys get ready, and we meet back here at nightfall."

Everyone nodded and left.

"So, Kairu-nii was kidnapped and taken to a lab?" The older, dark-green haired guy questioned.

Ryuuji nodded. "Yes, I'm going there at nightfall to save Kairu-nii."

The man agreed. "I'm coming too - I won't let no one hurt my younger brothers – and that's a promise to the name 'Midorikawa'!"

"We're all here except Ryuuji-kun." Ryuuichirou checked his watch.

Reina yawned. "Yeah, where is he? He organised the whole thing!"

Just then, as if psychic, the said boy ran up to them. "Sumimasen! Sorry I'm late!" he bowed to them.

Everyone was shocked when they saw an older boy. "Everyone meet my brother, Midorikawa Sesshoumaru."

"'S'up, kids!" Sesshoumaru grinned.

He climbed the tree with Shirou. "I can see the lab! It's four miles from here." he told Shirou. Shirou stared. "How did you-? Le-lets go."

Everyone started walking, apart from Sesshoumaru, who had the power of an eagle and flew.

Shirou sniffed the air once in a while to check if they were going the right way. "Onwards!"

Sesshoumaru kept his head straight. "Turn right, min'na."

Hiroto spoke to Fuusuke. "It's crazy, having Shirou-kun sniff the air and Sesshoumaru-san call down from up there. How does Sesshoumaru-san even do it?"

Fuusuke shrugged. "I don't know, I had my headphones in the whole time."

"You know, sometimes, you are really hopeless, Fuusuke-kun." Hiroto rolled his eyes.

Ryuuji came next to both of them. "I think maybe Sesshou-nii used Shirou-kun's toothbrush when Shirou-kun came over to our house. But he was away most of the time - he only came back at night."

"Just... ew..." Reina commented.

Haruya stopped. "How do we know it's this lab and not another?"

Kairu felt a shooting pain down his back. As two small wings appeared out of his back and pierced his skin, he yelled out.

"The subject has his wings, Garshield-san." Kenzaki acknowledged.

Garshield stood back. "Perfect!"

Kenzaki smiled. "Our subject is getting stronger."

The gang made it to the lab.

"Here we are." Osamu looked up at the weird building. "It looks like a prison." Ryuuichirou added.

"I wonder how many animals are in there." Hiroto spoke.

"I don't know THAT, but what I DO know, is that Kairu-nii is in there." Ryuuji answered before becoming invisible.
