I honestly couldn't believe it, vampires were real, well unless the half frozen Denmark sprinting team was in town and had recently converted to carnivorism. I pondered which one was more likely as I slammed Rick's door closed, the second explanation was plausible, if you ignored the fact that the boys hadn't spoke with an accent and that it was humanly impossible to run that fast or jump off a building that high and land that gracefully.
"I'm back," I called out, before descending the stairs, trying to keep my voice even and most probably failing, well at least I'd got the newspaper.
Predictably that was the first thing Rick asked me as I entered the room and I threw the newspaper at him with a superior glare, vampires be damned, I had still got to the shop and brought him his newspaper back.
I stepped forwards, towards my seat beside Hannah, about to ask her about Bob the spider when I noticed that my seat had been filled and not just by anybody but by the possible vampire. My eyes flew almost by themselves across the circle and I spotted the other one. They both looked at me and I could feel my mouth fall wide open.
"You... Your" I stopped, taking the glare I was getting from the second boy as a sign that mentioning they were vampires would not be the smartest idea, suppressing a shiver and looking at the nicer boy again, I finished lamely, " Why are you two here?" It was a pretty stupid question, obviously they were here either because they knew Rick or because they're following me, except they got here first which makes that kind of impossible unless they read my mind...
"We were invited," The not so nice guy said and I looked at him suspiciously before deciding there was really nothing I could do.
"Okay," I said simply, glaring across the circle at him before glancing wearily at the other boy on my left as I sat between him and Rick.
I buried my head in my hands, avoiding the quizzical looks both Hannah and McKayla were sending me. I vaguely heard Rick ask if anyone wanted a drink and then myself volunteering. Setting my jaw, I grabbed the boy beside me, the nicer of the two and dragged him towards the kitchen. There was no way he was going to turn up at Rick's house after his friend tried to eat me and get away with it!
I sighed as I headed for Rick's fridge, ignoring the boy, I didn't have a clue what I was supposed to say to him.
"Ella, what do you want to talk about?" I rolled my eyes, obviously I wanted to ask him about the weather, what did he think I wanted to talk about?
"Why would I want to talk to you, I don't even know you?" I practically spat out, not knowing what else to say.
"Jordan, and I know you want to talk." He was walking towards me and I backed up, slamming the fridge door closed as I did so, although I thought Jordan was probably the nicer of the two, I still did't want hm anywhere near me.
"Are you a vampire?" I asked bluntly, if a bit hesitantly. I almost cringed at the thought, if by any chance I was wrong he would think I was a right idiot.
"Why would you think that?" He asked, still coming closer. I found my back pressed against the wall and Jordan just in front me.
"Your pale, sickly cold and the other one was going to suck my blood" I told him, some fear entering my voice.
He stood right in front of me, so close that I could feel the cold radiating off his chest, "Yes we're vampires but now I can't let you go" He said harshly while I stared at him.
"What?!" I asked, now I was definitely scared, this was way over my head. I mean, almost getting eaten by a vampire was bad enough but now they were going to kidnap me. Great Halloween this was turning out to be.
"I'm just going to get Ryan, and if you leave, we'll track you down, and we don't want that," No we definitely didn't want that. especially since I guessed Ryan would definitely be up for the tracking and possibly eating thing.
"We told them, we're going home," I raised my eyebrows, wondering when it was decided that I was accompanying them. This wasn't happening.
"I'm not going anywhere with you two! Your vampires!" I told him, shaking my head and folding my arms across my chest.
"Would you keep your voice down!" Ryan hissed at me and I glared back at him, maybe they were scary vampires but that didn't mean I was just going to do what they said no questions asked.
"No! How do I know that you won't just bite me the second we walk out the door?" I asked, giving them both a look.
"We're not going to bite you!" Jordan said patiently, as if he were explaining something amazingly simple to a child. I looked at him suspiciously before taking a deep breath, trying to calm down and sound reasonable.
"I'm still not going anywhere with you." I said calmly, trying my best to look dignified.
"Look, if you don't come, we'll-" Ryan started and I turned my head to look at him and the stupid 'i'm oh soo charming' smile on his face, he obviously thought he was oh so amazing. To be honest I didn't think he was half as nice looking as Jordan... not that I particularly noticed how good looking Jordan was or anything.
Jordan interrupted Ryan and I could see them exchanging glances, "All we want to do is erase your memory Ella, so you'll forget all about us."
I looked at Jordan again, trying to gauge if I could really trust him, "I'll come, If and only if you swear that neither of you will ever bite me. Ever, even after you erase my memory!" I directed the last part of the comment at Ryan, before turning back to Jordan, who simply opened the door behind me and ushering me through it.

I walked through the front door of what I assumed was Jordan's house and before I could blink twice, a girl with long dark hair was standing in the doorway to my left, I jumped about a foot in the air and swore under my breath, stupid vampires, of course they could move fast.
"A human girl?" The figure in the doorway asked, raising an eyebrow at the boys behind me.
"I have a name, it's Ella." I said automatically, forgetting that I was out of my depth and letting my mouth run away with itself wasn't going to help me.
The girl laughed, "I'm Rosalyn." I smiled awkwardly, glad that at least one person, or should I say vampire, didn't seem to want to eat me straight away.
No one said anything for a moment and I stared at the wallpaper on the wall in front of me, memorising the pattern of the squares until the awkward silence past.
"So, where did you meet those two, Ella?" Rosalyn asked, obviously sensing the same awkward silence as me and trying to fill it.
"Down an alleyway, when they tried to bite me." I said cheerfully with a rather large fake smile and to my surprise I seen realisation dawning in Rosalyn's face. It made me slightly suspicious, either she knew something or Jordan and Ryan almost bit a lot of people.
"Can you just get on with wiping my memory so I can get back to the party?" I whined turning to face Jordan.
I heard Ryan mutter something that sounded like, "See, I'm not the only one who likes parties"
"Fine. Not that I would've called it a party," Jordan said, I was about to reply and tell him that it was much more fun than a normal party when his eyes locked with mine and I could do nothing except stare. I felt like I was getting lost in his eyes, as if I was going to fall asleep...
Then he blinked, turning away and the moment was broken.
I stared at him, frowning, "Is this a delayed reaction thing?"
"You don't even feel a little drowsy?" Rosalyn asked from behind me and I shook my head, groaning at the glances I seen them exchange, obviously something had gone wrong. Great!
