Kouki's P.O.V
Hearing cackling from upstairs which was soon followed by a shout of anger, Boruto, Sarada and I looked at each other, feeling confused as to what could have made her act that way. Was it our parents? But why would she be angry and how would she even know?..... We had been here for a few days now and we were cold, tired, nervous and desperate for our parents to turn up. Boruto and Sarada were trying to stay strong and act like it didn't phase them that we had been captured by a mad woman, but they weren't able to hide it from me. Seeing straight through people was something I inherited from my mother...... unfortunately, I hadn't been able to see through the woman that I thought would care for me like a true grandparent would. Thinking about it, my mother's hurt expression appeared in my mind and I felt my heart clench in my chest in response. Boruto noticed and put a hand on my shoulder, giving me his confident and reassuring grin.
"We'll get out of here, I just know it. It's gunna be soon." He chuckled, seeming confident like I'd heard stories of how his father was in his childhood and as he grew up. Boruto was definitely like his father, my mother would always tell me that, while Sarada was more like her mother.
"Boruto's right." Sarada spoke up from the corner of the cell she was sitting in. "I have that feeling too....." Glancing between them, I gave them a smile and leant back against the wall.
"What do you know about your mum's past, Kouki?" Boruto suddenly asked, causing to stare at him in confusion.
"Why do you ask?" I frowned, wondering what caused him to ask.
"Dad told me that when she was younger, she went through a lot. Plus I'm kind of confused as to why you trusted that woman so quickly....." He shrugged, his blue eyes fixed on me, waiting for an answer.
"I dunno?" I shrugged with a sigh. "My mum keeps quiet about her past, she only tells me about life when she was in Konoha." It was true. Whenever I had asked her about her past and about her life as a child, she would suddenly grow still before changing the conversation. Dad had warned me not to bring up her mother or childhood, and so I had grown quiet about it and left it alone.
"I've heard about her childhood. I happened to hear her talking to my mum about it." Sarada said, a look of sorrow crossing onto her face.
"Tell us. I bet Kouki wants to know more about his mum." Boruto beamed, eager to learn something new about the woman he admired. I knew that he admired my mum just as much as he admired his dad and uncle Sasuke. His crush on my mum had used to be the reason he was always round, as well as to play with me, but then it turned into complete admiration and respect instead of a crush and he began to want to become stronger. Sarada sighed before going into an explanation about the hardships my mother had faced as a child.Once she was finished talking, I felt sick to my stomach. Hearing that my mother had been scarred, beaten, unloved and trained to be a cold blooded killer by the woman who'd tried to turn me against her, made me feel like trash for ever trusting her. Her harsh past was so shocking that it made me realise why she had hidden it and why she had hidden her mother's existence from me. Regret began to consume me and I clutched at my chest as I realised how much pain my mum had gone through throughout her life. Boruto was frowning with his fists clenched at his side while Sarada sat with tears in her eyes at how sad her life was.
"I didn't know auntie Tsuki went through all that......" Boruto breathed out, irritation in his voice.
"Neither did I......" I frowned, tightening my hands into a fist as anger began to course through me. Anger directed towards my grandparent who was the cause of her pain. She'd caused my mum so much pain already and now she'd kidnapped us and made us bait to cause her pain once again....... Why was this woman so obsessed with making my mother suffer?
"We need to try and break out. I'm getting a bad feeling about being here." Sarada sighed rubbing at her temple, seeming to be thinking of a way out. Glancing around, I saw barred windows, stairs, a locked door, cells and not much else...... "Boruto, use rasengan to try and break the cell door." She instructed. Boruto looked at her skeptically but did as he was told. As he threw it towards the cell door, it made an indent in the lock but it didn't break. "The locks too strong. Try again." Boruto sighed but did so again and this time it made a bigger indent into the lock, almost making it half the size. My eyes widened and I glanced over at Sarada as I realised that if he kept it up, we could break the lock and get out that way. Boruto used his rasengan again twice in a row and then the door swung open. Why hadn't we tried this when we were first chucked in?! Bursting out of the cell, we all ran up the steps and opened the door quietly, Sarada in the lead of our group. We snuck through the house, listening out for any signs of Rin appearing or anyone else possibly being in the house, but luckily it was quiet. A bit too quiet......As we snuck through the house, it remained quiet and we went through slowly so as not to make any unnecessary noises. Seeing the front door, we went towards it before a hand grabbed my shoulder and I felt myself freeze. A deadly aura could be felt radiating off of whoever it was behind and glancing behind me, I saw a man who was watching us in amusement with cold green eyes and scruffy brown hair. He looked older than my mother but very deadly.
"And where do you think you're going exactly?" He asked, his voice a bit too calm for my liking. Slapping his hand off my shoulder, we made a run for it. Sarada threw the door open before we escaped into the snow. Ignoring the cold, we continued to run while hearing manic laughter behind us.
"Run! Don't stop!" Sarada called out to us as we ran down the mountain, trying not to fall as we did so due to how slippery and steep it was. I heard a grunt and saw Boruto being pinned to the floor by the man before then being grabbed by the mans clone and pinned to the floor with his hand around my throat. Clawing at his hand, I tried to thrash about so his grip on my neck would loosen but it didn't work. "Boruto! Kouki!" Sarada shouted in alarm.
"Keep going!" Boruto exclaimed in a harsh voice. Sarada looked hesitant before giving us an apologetic glance then running off to try and find our parents.
"You're not much like your mother are you? She was more of a fighter than you...." The man smirked cruelly, his eyes narrowing slightly but showing silent laughter. Glaring up at him, he simply laughed before pressing against a certain point on my neck causing me to pass out. Hopefully Sarada would find our parents and warn them of this man......
